Are gaming chairs a meme?
>>
>>339806065
yes
>>
Paying more for a good chair is definitely worth it. Buy overpriced gaymur shit is retarded.
>>
Gaming shit is a meme like 9 out of 10 times. Just get a comfortable office chair.
>>
The worst are the floor level ones

Same goes for gaming headphones.

Overpriced shit with low quality
>>
>>339806570
This.
Gaming chairs are just chairs (that may not even be very comfortable) with bright, ugly designs slapped on and a jacked-up price tag.
You are most likely better off grabbing a folding lawn chair and putting a pillow on it for extra comfort.
>>
I got this one for $230
($300 total, $75 5 year warranty covering everything)
Since its mesh, I expect to at-least replace it before the warranty runs out for a fresh chair.

Although I own nice speakers with a subwoofer, headphones can be nice for their price and portability, while the more expensive ones can deliver fantastic sound quality with the addition of blocking out environmental sounds.
It also helps if you live with your parents, yes.

Help me out here lads, I need some sound advice. I currently have a typical leather office chair, it's comfy as fuck, but has seen better days. I'm looking to buy a chair in the style of these "gamer chairs", but the prices put me off. Are there any of these chairs available anywhere where the price isn't inflated because it has a fucking "DC RACER" logo slapped on it?

Also maybe I'm going about this the wrong way - Has anyone owned both a leather office chair and a chair like in OP, and can they confirm if they are actually any comfier.
>>
>>339806835
Have you actually tried one? It's like sitting on air. Completely takes away the discomforts of sitting on a regular chair, allowing me full focus on the game.

Wow hold your horses m8. I didn't imply that you are looser if you use headsets or even if you live with your parents. Its just that there are people who live alone and use a headset seems like too much of a hassle. I live alone and I have a cheap 2.1 sound system for PC. Makes me feel vulnerable if I had to use a headset.
>>
>>339806986
We have something very similar where I work. The metal support at the bottom digs into my back. My slouching poster doesn't help, but honestly, these mesh chairs are just as much a meme as the gaming ones.

tl;dr For 2+ hour gaming sessions, office chair with lumbar support. For 2- hour gaming sessions, gaming chair.

I've owned both. Office chairs are comfier for long sessions of gaming (2+ hours), gaming chairs feel comfier for the first hour or two.
If you know your own gaming habits, and you know that you fit into one of those two distinct spaces, get the one that fits your style.

Lumbar support and arm rest height are key here. You need the right arm rest height so that you can comfortably rest either arm on your arm rest without raising or lowering your shoulders, while at the same time fitting the lumbar support comfortably, without having to shift around to find the comfy spot.

Gaming chairs are great for immediate comfort, but fail after a prolonged exposure.

At what point did "meme" start to mean "thing I don't like"?
>>
>>339807062
Baking. Soda. Solution.
1 part baking soda, 10 parts water. Remove leather pads from chair, insert into solution, wait 2 hours.

If your chair doesn't come apart, sprinkle baking soda over the chair and vacuum it off in 2-3 hours.

And if you don't have a vacuum, get some white vinegar and spritz it over the chair. Let it dry (10 minutes or so?) and then wipe it clean with a dry cloth. This will give your leather a new, vinegary smell for about a day. This is the least effective method, but it works very well.

Most important thing is lumbar support. You don't need a G4M3R chair for lumbar support. Get a decent computer chair and buy pic related if you experience back fatigue/ache after sitting for a while. Also stretch regularly and start lifting to strengthen your core.

>>339806065
Not even memeing, pic related is my chair for a while now, and it's comf as fuck, sturdy and wide. I paid less than for a comparable office chair because it was on sale (~200ā‚¬). if you sit on something for quite some time, having back support, a wide seat surface and comfortable cushioning is worth it.

I came home from work one day after pulling my back, and after I got that shit sorted, sitting in this chair was quite helpful for the nerve swelling to go down, as it provides ample support. Hell, I could sleep in that fucking chair.

Stay away from shit that's advertised to you as ELITE PRO MLG GAMER edition, or costs more than, I guess, 300ā‚¬/$350, though. That's a fucking rip-off.
>>
My brother bought me one of these for my birthday a couple years ago. I don't even know why.

The armrest broke three days in and it really isn't that comfortable.

Cherrymx black mechanical keyboards are good for gaming and bad for typing. It's a gaming keyboard, retard.

Bitch please, if I didn't exist you'd miss making fun of us.
>>
>>339808092
>Cherrymx black mechanical keyboards
I just looked at those keyboards, and cannot find a single difference to a regular keyboard.

What is the difference, and why do they suck for typing? I am legitimately curious, and want to know.
>>
>>339806986
>>339807106
I can actually confirm that that's a decent chair, if not as durable as some other shit. We had 3 among the roomies, only one survived into year 4. That being said, we're not a collection of fatties, we just slouch in our chairs every so often as one is wont to do. What breaks are usually the bottom supports and the lift mechanism.

Only a gaming mouse with more than 2 buttons is actually worth the monies. Can't prove me wrong that this gives actual advantages and a much higher comfort, like having it as backward and forward page in a browser
>>
>>339808232
>*laughing*
Fucking hell how much of a faggot are you?
>>
>>339808184
>What is the difference, and why do they suck for typing?
Because you get a crisp response for single key presses, with some resistance, which is good for gaming, because muh responsiveness and tactile quality. It sucks for typing because when you are writing an essay, you don't want to feel every fucking keystroke like it was an accomplishment, you want soft keys that you can just have your fingers fly over. There is no point in knowing you pressed "d", "i", "c", and "k" when hashing out your newest Widowmaker x Winston fanfic, you just want to have your fingers glide over the keys and have the letter appear while you're on to the next letter.
>>
>>339808327
approximately 90 percent faggot as you.

I blow 200 dudes a second.
>>
>>339808184
>>339808289
Too tired, didn't even post

Mechanical keyboards use switches underneath them to actuate instead of pieces of rubber that kinda bend inwards when you press hard enough like most keyboards. It's the sort of thing you can only really compare in person, I used to never worry about mechanicals but since I got a keyboard with Cherry MX Browns I would never go back.

A mechanical keyboard feels like a perfectly made controller with exact responsiveness where rubber domes start to feel like Mad Catz in comparison.
>>
>>339808289
Sooooo literally no real difference. Thanks, I guess.

Mechanical switches are a goddamn meme. If you think even the best mechanical switch means you can literally just touch your keys to press them, then you're a fucknugget, and if you think that even the absolute worst keyboard requires you to put more than 0.47 newtons in, you're as much of a fucknugget as the other fucknugget,.
>>
>>339808343
Eh isn't it the other way around though. With soft keys you can have extra letters way more easily than if you have tactile feedback for every keypress that actually registers
>>
>>339808343
But this faggot
>>339808289
showed evidence that Cherrry MX Black are tactileless, meaning they don't give you a sensory response when you depress them, which absolutely disagrees with what you just wrote.

For gaming, you want your keys to depress quickly and accurately; you don't really need to know where your fingers are, because you should be good enough with your fingers that you know where they are without extra sensory input.
>>
>>339808548
>>339808609
You know, I may be crosswired, but I prefer it the other way around. Whatever. Take my quip and flip it around, then it's correct, I guess. I type a lot and I type relatively fast, so clicking gets on my tits, whereas during gaming, I'd like to feel the actuation.

Too be fully honest, I prefer the ultra flat laptop style keys. They have short actuation paths, click a lot less, have low actuation force and are piss easy to rip out for cleaning.

>tfw laptop gaming for almost 5 years now
>tfw I used an Enermax Aurora ultra flat keyboard before that

Just gonna give a posture tip that helped me tremendously: Make sure your monitor is lined up with your eyes. Put some books under it if your desk is too short. I recently learned that the forward neck bend you have to do when looking at a monitor that's too low was the main cause of my chronic neck pains and headaches I've been having for years. Most desks are designed for fucking manlets.
>>
>>339806663
looks good like you won't start sliding off it and the back is great and a head support too so you can fully lean back and with your head too

are my assumptions correct?

Sitting up straight does not matter. I read that its even better to sit in a relaxed slant position. What matters is exercise and stretching every 30 minutes.
