Frank is the only one of the series three protagonists who is actually suited to fit within the format of Dead Rising.
The entire game series is formatted around the premise Frank is a photojournalist, and he has a deadline. He's motivated to be curious, both to figure out why and what's going on for his and other's safety, but also for his career. And these twin motives shift depending on the situation he's in and what he's faced with.
Chuck is a former motocross athlete and Nick is an aspiring greasemonkey. Chuck's skills giving rise to comboweapons is a real reach, but his personal motivation is to save his daughter. He should be contented to grab a fistful of Zombrex. The motive to clear his name is ridiculous and is apparently solved very early on: and only an actual threat within the confines of poorly informed psychotic people looking for someone to hurt. Perusing the point beyond TK; Chuck is completely disinterested and is only going out again due to the zombies stopping their rescue. Pretty much the same with Nick; he only wants a way out of town for himself and his clique. Not to discover his tacid history with zombies that he repressed. Yet both these games have Case Files and Scoops and display the Aline failure with "The Truth has Vanished into Darkness". That just doesn't make any sense for that language to be used, eve if it matches all other structure points of their games.

I kind of liked Nick, he was pretty shit in the beginning but as he killed more of the psychos he got more confident and full of himself, cracking jokes when they died instead of crying.
Giving him the Afro, fireman moustache and putting him in a suit that made him look like a white Black Dynamite helped me like him and if you didn't do that you're playing the game wrong.

Frank moved like a gimp because he fell out of the helicopter in the opening scene and smashed his hip. He also drops his camera bag, that's why he needs to scavenge shit to keep taking photos.
