this is a problem in any team game unless 1 person can solo carry a shit team, which usually means that the game doesn't require teamwork.
Why is it when I analyse our team and try to recommend characters for people to counter the other team's comp, they just ignore and run into the meat grinder. I generally change several times in a match if my strategy isn't working against a certain team. Sometimes we just don't need a fucking Symmetra or a god damn Hanzo.
One game comes to mind where we had 2 Widowmakers on Hanamura during the last capture point against a competent team for 5 minutes. Everyone else on the team was playing hyper-aggressively on the point but it was like playing 2 people down

I hate how matchmaking never keeps you in a team. You rarely get a chance to sync together until the end of the round and then you get kicked back to the menu or play scrambled teams. It's better to stand in front of Tornjorns turret. The reason being that the turret can shoot through you- if you stand directly in front of Bastion he can't see. The turret can see through you though. The turret can also insta-lock on to people sneaking up behind you.

Getting carried must be hard.
My only problem with the matchmaking is that it doesn't really try to match groups together. I've played against 4~5 mans all the time when I soloq. While my team has maybe 1 duo max. And even if the other team is worse individually they can still win with teamwork that's just not possible since most people don't use voice comms in this game. I've ran into maybe 3 people who have used voip in my 400 games (PC)

there is a matchmaking system keeping players around 50%-60% winrate
artificially managing your chances of wining to 50-60%
it doesnt care how good you are, they will match you with first timers to keep your win rate there
it doesnt care how bad you are it will match you against shit enemies whenever you are losing
teams that win more than 2 games in a row are auto disbanded because thats not okay by blizzards hypercasual standards

Non-cosmetic upgrades mean the playing field is non-level in favor of people who've spent more time/money, regardless of skill.
Larger amounts of players lessen the importance of each individual's contribution, making the game less competitively viable and less fun in general unless you only play TDM.

The matchmaking is genuinely the biggest problem with the game.
It fucking sucks dick when you get into a good even game and the teams just get broken up and re-matchmade with somebody else and if you ever get a win streak you get purposely matchmade into unwinnable games to balance it out.
I fucking hate it because the game itself is really fun.
