I really liked this game.
It was a piece of shit when they released it, so it quickly faded into obscurity, but over time they fixed the performance issues and added a brilliant expansion.
Gameplay wise it's somewhat barebones, but I found the story and the world really compelling.
The game, especially the expansion, does an excellent job of making you feel like a special snowflake, but somehow not overdoing it to the point of cringe like Mass Effect.

I'd say the graphics are still pretty good.
Animations are maybe a bit stiff for this day and age. The advantage of it having received so many patches is that it runs flawlessly now.
I don't think it's that old to talk about aging, but if you're asking whether it's worth a playthrough, I'd say definitely yes, the story and the characters don't age, and they're the main reason to play that game. I'll try to highlight why the game is a good dragon game and a good rpg game without spoiling anything.

The game is also full of excellent side quests and hidden shit and puzzles. As a dragon knight you can pay XP to read peoples mind. This is an excellent mechanic because you don't always get something useful (literally just guard thinking about cold beer), but sometimes you can get hints, secrets or different insights into your quests. Also this being an oldschool RPG it doesn't put this in your quest log as "new objective - go here instead", you are just told the line one time and it's up to you what you're gonna do with it.
