Did you enjoy the latest Hitman level, /v/?

I haven't played it yet, but I ran through Sapienza for the first time last night and putzed around in the start of this area throwing explosives into the crowds. The game is way fucking better than it has any right to be, and I'm enjoying the episodic release structure.
>>
>>339686331
Can you stop shilling this shit? Nobody cares about games that can't be pirated here.

Fuck me.

Anyways, Marrakesh is probably the weakest episode so far, to be honest, familia.
>>
>>339686749
If I was a poorfag I wouldn't be pirating anyway it since I wouldn't be able to run it, smart guy.
>>
>>339686971
Probably

Using the same voice actors over and over is really beginning to get irritating
>>
Italy was better
>>
Where the fuck is the lamb the general wants? And what hole in the Bazaar is he referring to? Someone spoonfeed me on this, please.
>>
Just opinions.
But I'm liking it better than Sapienza.
>>
It's a good level, but very underwhelming when you compare it to Sapienza. Very uncomfy setting, not as good an execution on the concept of the level, not as much fun and creative shit to do, the major areas of the level feel emptier than the ones in the other levels and the Embassy is a pain in the ass.

Someone in another thread put it very well. It's the is filler level you'd play through and move on without thinking too much about it in a normal retail product, but because this game is episodic, we now have to linger on it.

Let's hope it ends up being the worst level of the game.
>>
>>339686457
Sapienza is definitely the best level so far. It's so fucking good.

>>
>>339686331
The voices are really annoying now, you can forgive and somewhat imagine what we heard in the previous levels are italian and french accent but not in this level.
Also it's weird how there are many stores and stalls without shopkeeper
>>
>Paris had American security guards at the event
>Italy had American bodyguards in the villa
>Morroco just has everyone sound American
>>
>>339686930
It's been annoying for a long, long time. Back then the fags called it "bacterial marketing". If anything, it's gotten less prevalent since.
>>
>>339687120
I wonder if that will change with Thailand. The first three episodes were supposed to come out at the same time so I imagine the voice acting for them was already done. The other 3 episodes were supposed to come out later, so maybe they can make some changes.
>>
Is there any way to incite the riot into happening? I want to blow the powder keg up.
>>
>>339694878
Than you could not hear all the random banter the NPCs are talking.

Either go full voice or get slapped for trying to simulate accents and get called racist for sounding shit or get laughed at for bad pronunciations by native tongue people.
>>
>>339700634
Yeah, I don't mind the NPC's sounding American, they're obviously speaking in their native language and the game is just translating.

With that said, more than 4 voice actors would be nice. Makes me think IO is working on a really shoestring budget.
>>
>>339686331
This is truly the sequel to Blood Money I had long hoped for. Shame about the retarded episodic release structure. What is this, fucking Life is Strange with murder?
>>
>>339686930
I can't tell if it's a meme or if people really believe there are paid viral advertisers on this shithole of a website.
>>
>>339686457
There's only one thing I hate about the game.

Elusive Contracts.

I fucking hate these things. I pretty much have to sink time into each level ASAP so I can get decent starting points so I can then SA the EC when it arrives and I have to constantly be on the lookout for when it arrives because it's not a set fucking structure.
>>
How long are the missions in this? Im playing through Blood Money right now and love it, are they decidedly longer or shorter than that? Is there more to do or figure out?
>>
>>339688352
I think you might be the only one, at least on /v/
>>
>>339700846
You don't think they are? After 2 black eyes Dog Days and Absolution I was surprised they even got a 3rd chance. The episodic release was also probably forced after the success of Life is Strange. And i don't blame them for taking the deal, at least now they can squeeze out most of the time development for all the maps.
>>
>>339694742
>>339694878
The game is just translating what they're saying to us. They're obviously speaking their own native language. They even make references to this sometimes, with one character not understanding what the other is saying because they don't speak the same language despite the fact they're speaking English.

They've made a few minor changes since the game first launched. They made the UI a little nicer, added a few small animations to certain actions, etc.

They did ditch proximity triggers that were horrible in the original release completely, so that's nice of them.

By the way, where the fuck are cigarettes masseuse wants? I think I have looked around the whole damn level to no avail.

Also can you give the prisoner any weapons to kill Zaydan? That was the first thought that came to my mind but it seems IO wasn't that clever.
>>
>>339686646
you actually can pirate the dlc if you have the intro pack

What's the game like so far? All 3 episodes combined?

Is it at least half as good as Blood Money? Doubt it.

Then again, might just be the nostalgia goggles talking, Blood Money was one of the first games I ever played (I was like 7 when it came out) so of course I'm going to think it's great.

(USER WAS BANNED FOR THIS POST)
>>
>>339706818
It's as good as Blood Money and general gameplay is improved.
>>
>>339706818
>Is it at least half as good as Blood Money? Doubt it.
The levels that are released so far combined with the core mechanics are better than BM.

>More balanced mechanics with actual challenge, especially disguises and trespassing
>More ways to kill shit
>More NPCs
>Bigger levels
>More interactivity
>More weapons

The bad things are episodic format (though like some Anons above I think it's due to IO having a vodka bottle and a Lego set for a budget), DRM on top of DRM on top of DRM and the grace spot period which takes too long, in my opinion.

Multiplayer could work in hitman (as long as no one is playing as 47)
>1v1
>Two hitmen, first to kill target wins
>first to kill other hitman without alerting the map also wins

>throughout the game, you get hints dropped about the target or you can choose info about the other hitman

safe and sound just like a regular mission.
>if you go the loud route, other hitman will know you got the target and has a chance to steal the win if they kill you before you get out
>if you shoot the target with a gun in a market, other hitman will find you easily and kill and run off

PC folk unhappy with the optimization and all folk unhappy with the release method.

I think this "beta"/monthly release has been good for them, though. If they had just made the entire game and released it with the gameplay and whatnot that the intro pack launched with, people would be a bit unimpressed. They're actively taking people's suggestions and trying to polish the experience. Plus it gives people more time and reason to replay the levels instead of rushing through all of them and never touching it again.

It's not ideal and I'd rather it not become a norm, but so far so good.

I liked Sapienza more. Mostly just because of where it's based I guess. I don't like the constant music blaring, the crowds are annoying, it looks like shit, and trying to traverse it is too difficult because of all the alleys and shit.
None of the opportunities and challenges seem that fun either.
>>
Sapienza's better, but I did like slipping through the crowds at the beginning and the helicopters overhead. Good set piece.

Plus not being forced to destroy a virus was nice.

No kidding, sweetfx is a must

>>339707857
It's amazing, I'm on a 770 and I can play the new witcher on near max settings and get at least a stable 35-45+ fps since they released a recent patch. IO releases a patch and now on medium I get frequent drops sometimes to 20-29.

The gameplay and level design is great but the budget must be really low, the execution is seriously flawed and they've cut too many corners.

To prepare to kill more people for more money.

Also 47 is canonically autistic, maybe he collects some expensive shit because he's obsessed with it, not counting suits.
>>
>>339709528
Because he still needs sleep, food and solitude. Probably less of the aforementioned two, considering the whole genetically engineered, however, to exist with a far superior brain as well as body, I suspect you do feel alone from time to time and then it's good to have money to make your alone time not feel as shitty, y'know.

Or maybe it's just his purpose in life y'know, perhaps he just uses the money he gets as a tool to continue doing what he does best, being a Hitman.
>>
>>339709174
There's clearly an overarching plot involving that raggedy older guy and his crush on 47-senpai. There's also smaller stories explaining why things are happening in the level and why the targets are wanted dead.

You are killing people for money, that's all you should really need.

Granted BM did a better job at establishing this what with the money and shop system. I think that's the main reason why BM will always be the best one most likely.
Although on a side note, 47 has more money they he could ever need. I think based on the ending of SA, he actually just likes killing people, he's basicly just a serial killer who found a way to turn a profit off it.
I like the fact that he is built as a genuinely immoral character, that was the issue with Absolution's story. Beyond the retarded over the top juvenility of the the characters, they tried to "give him a heart" and justify his actions, which is retarded.

It's more about the gameplay though.
>>
>>339711457
No he doesn't. I've played it the reason he goes after Father V is probably more to do with the fact that he was buying an off the grid place to hideaway through church donations.
An attack on him is essentially an attack on 47, I view it as more of a revenge thing, not a love for the father as much.

if you recall the end, he doesn't even keep his cross, he realises he enjoys killing
>>
>>339711362
Yeah, just wanted to point it out and agree, guess I could've worded it better.

>>339711457
Well, he is ALIVE and sentient, so of course he's going to have something resembling feelings and will care about things, it just won't be derived from our basic emotions. To 47, it's probably more along the lines of "does this further my agenda and/or will help me in the future?" and most of that is probably just cold hard logic, except to 47 it becomes his "emotions."
>>
anyone else have opportunities turned completely off? gives the game a more classic 'figure it out yourself' vibe.
>>
>>339711698
Why was he helping that priest in SA if he doesn't care?
>>
>>339711881
Long time since I played it, but does the outcome of going after the priest in anyway favor 47, or would help him further down the line.

I mean, the priest isn't just some random asshole, is he? He's someone that's going to be a help for 47 in the foreseeable future, is he not?

Any cool outfits in this level like the magician and clown ones in Paris and Sapienza?

What's up with the elusive targets? Why do people hate em? I just got this game so Idk what they are since I can't play them
>>
>>339711836
>>339712371
I turned everything off, minimap included.
The only thing that is really needed is the NPC icons as it's kind of guesswork to determine which npcs see through the guard outfit. I turn that off as well though after I figure that out.

>>339712630
Actually no, come to think of it there is no hidden outfit as far as I am aware. There is a fortune teller's disguise though that is kind of cool.
>>
>>339712663
not enough of them, still haven't gotten the reward from the last one, actually don't really extend the life of the game if you're already sick of the levels.

I used to turn them off for the first play through, but I enabled them for second playthroughs so that I can get more challenges, and some of them are pretty obtuse. Now I just enable them and ignore them if I find them the first time.
Some should be looked at anyway, like finding the propaganda hanging schedule. The only way to know the actual schedule is by looking at the opportunity or whatever.

How's this game run on PS4? Because it seems really unstable on PC. Graphical bugs and crashes galore.

How's the FPS performance? I might consider just getting it on PS4. Hell, i'm not even sure my PC can run it proper anyway.
>>
>>339717043
Depends. You can lock it at 30 or keep it unlocked. Keeping it unlocked is the way to go because you hit 60 on training missions and it rarely dips on the real ones.

Not that is matters because FPS isn't important for a game like this.

Seriously FUCK this release model. One of my favorite video game franchises and they pull this anti-consumer shit. I'm not buying until the entire game is out for one price. FUCK SQUEENIX
>>
>>339717794
I'm pretty sure there's going to be a full six levels when the game is complete, but I'm not exactly sure what locations other than Japan and USA will be available.
>>
>>339717914
Don't you already buy it for one price
>>
So Marrakesh might be my favorite level because of its sheer size and difficulty of it. What does /hitman/ think of it?
>>
I don't understand why you have to smuggle small items you can carry on your person in a ICA crate. why not let you just carry all of them from the beginning? the crates should be reserved for guns that are too big to holster.
>>
>>339717947
i didn't enjoy it, though it is my quickest saso run of just under 10minutes
>>
>>339717914
it's the best way not to waste money on levels no one is going to play. I remember devs complaining about how not a lot of people finish games anymore, so all the effort they put into the final missions just went down the drain.
>>
>>339717947
I feel it was a bit too easy in some places?
SA-wise, didn't try SASO yet.
Got it on my 2nd attempt.
>>
>>339717914
You can buy it now and wait for all six episodes to come out.

You'll miss out on Elusive Targets though and maybe on Escalations.
>>
>>339707080
>>339707180
I like this game a lot too, but saying it's better than Blood Money is just insane, to be honest. There are only five levels out and the game has plenty of issues. It might get on Blood Money's and Contract's quality by 2017 but it's nowhere near that level yet.
>>
Not really a fan of the Marrakesh level, but even Blood Money had levels that weren't great. Marrakesh could be the new Hitman's Death On The Mississippi.
>>
>>339717945
>>339718149
You're right, I should've said I don't want to pay full price for content that isn't there yet. And yeah, bummed I'm gonna miss out on Elusive targets but I don't want to show support for their fucking bullshit release model and buy now. Either pay full price now for what's going to play like an early access game, or buy an intro pack for cheap and then maybe an upgrade pack and end up paying more than just getting the full game right away. Has there honestly ever been a more anti-consumer release model?
>>
>>339717914
How is it anti-consumer?
>>
>>339718441
I wouldn't say anti-consumer; IO wanted to experiment with episodic content because the game so far seems pretty huge and its sheer size could've made bugs disastrous if released all at once.

Then again IO could've delayed for another year and release it then. It's not like Hitman fans were clamoring for the game to be released right away.
>>
>>339708170
There are some fun opportunities and challenges hidden in the level, but yeah, I agree with you on the level being annoying and bad looking. It is decidedly uncomfy.
>>
>>339718893
>It's not like Hitman fans were clamoring for the game to be released right away.

On a somewhat related note, after the Paris level was released all I wanted was the rest of the game. Paris was just that enjoyable.
>>
>>339718194
Of course, it's still very much possible for IO to royally fuck something up but honestly, mechanics in existing levels are plain better and levels are more open.

>Disguises aren't BM tier OP but they aren't useless like in Abomination
>Trespassing actually matters
>Targets don't have suspicious windows of them being alone in a closed room for a period of time, personal bodyguards are way more frequent
>More than one way of elaborate kill per target

Maybe I'm just glad Hitman is finally back but I really do think BM has been surpassed.
>>
>>339719305
except for the music, well the sound in general is pretty shithouse in the new hitman
>>
>>339719508
That much is true, sound design is fucking terrible.
>>
>>339718685
You either pay in advance for content that doesn't exist yet or end up paying more than the people who paid in advance if you buy everything only when it comes out.

>>339718893
>Then again IO could've delayed for another year and release it then. It's not like Hitman fans were clamoring for the game to be released right away.
Well that's the experience I'll be getting in January 2017.
>>
>>339719508
>except for the music
I'll wholeheartedly admit I miss Blood Money's soundtrack, but the new Hitman music can be good when it wants to.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B5GnEFC-CnY
>>
>>339719508
Personally I kind of like the music, though I haven't played previous Hitmans that much. All other sounds are pretty shit though.
>>
I am still a bit ambivalent. I really don't like the school and hate that the window in the director's office apparently has no use for going in and out at all.
But I just made my first SASO run and coincidentally it was by best one overall so far.
The protesters are cool, but I haven't really figured them out yet, with the feat and such.
Maybe it's just that I am tired of seeing arab settings. I have played enough CS, CoD4 and Insurgency to be saturated on it.

Also, the always online is still a major pain in the ass and fuck SE for this fucking stupid release model. While the episode format grew on me initially, I started to dislike it again and it's just getting worse, especially since for every bug that gets fixed, new ones pop up and performance hasn't improved in the slightest for me.
>>
>>339719632
>You either pay in advance for content that doesn't exist yet
I'm asking how this is anti-consumer.

>or end up paying more than the people who paid in advance if you buy everything only when it comes out.
I don't recall this being said actually. I paid more than what pre-orderers did, but I see no reason for that price to change again. And pre-order deals aren't a new thing either, and it would seem weird to call this out for being anti-consumer when it would only be about pre-order deals.
>>
>>339719693

Problem with this is that subtitles can overlay and maybe some fringe banter can drrown out important information.

Why not hire voice actors from that country and let them do lines? I mean, everyone and his grandma speaks english, it's a language for retards, so there should be no problem finding natives who speak english. Well, it might get difficult for France, though.
>>
I'm gutted because the concept of Marrakesh was great, stopping a coup and killing someone in an embassy while the city is on the edge of a riot sounds amazing. But it just so lacklustre. It's not bad it's just a bit bland.
>>
>>339711836
Who has them turned on? I have everything turned off except minimap since the detection system is shit and I need that status.
I laughed when I was playing Sapienza and suddenly an achievement popped up that said I had used all opportunities. I think I don't know to this day what they actually are.
>>
>>339711351
Because then you get the accent problem again.
>>
>>339718218
But Death On Mississippi is great. The one in the hospital is the shitty one.
>>
>>339717357
>FPS isn't important for a game like this
idiot or just baiting?

it all depends on the style youre playing, it can be very important
>>
>>339720431
Opportunities handhold you through one of the ways to kill a target once you discover them, essentially like sidequests.
>>
>>339720731
I know, I meant I don't know what the Sapienza opportunities are.
>>
>>339720609
I really like the calm atmosphere in the hospital and the feeling of impending doom that was in the air. It was very linear, though, but then again, so was Death on the Mississippi.
>>
>>339720693
More like I couldn't care less as long it doesn't dip to unplayable levels. It's not a First person shooter or a fighting game.
>>
>>339687120
For me it's getting funnier and funnier

Mechanically Marrakesh is my favourite, i love the targets and their separate environments. I love the aesthetics and I love the size

Content wise it's my least favourite, too few exits and the fact that you can't start the riot is a bit of a let down. I even tried assassinating their speaker.

I didn't get Ep3 yet, was too busy with B&W, anybody can tell me how map looks content wise? Is it again fuckhuge but targets are clustered in one place?
>>
>>339722663
Targets are in 2 different locations this time, but there's a pretty big area that's not utilized really.
>>
>>339722823
Shame, if that's how it's supposed to look, I'd prefer them making maps about the size of Paris. Even the goddamn ET in Sapienza was caruso's villa only.
>>
>>339723110
There are some opportunities that start outside those areas, and you'll need to find a way into those areas. But it works pretty much like Sapienza.
I'm going to guess future Elusive Targets will utilize that other space though. And there are probably escalation contracts that do that right now.

I don't think they were going for comfy but I'm not sure what it means in terms of Hitman.

In my opinion, not his necessarily, it would mean that it's basically to chaotic yes. It's not just the amount of people, but also the shitty speakers constantly playing shitty music.

Is there actually going to be an explanation for the "story" behind these missions or are we going to continue to see vague clips and voice bits of that woman talking to the boss of the recruiting agency, I have no problem if a game is good and has no story. I do have a problem when a game tries to implement a story and does a piss poor job.

I guess they're trying to be like TV shows. "Sorry for releasing 25% of the game full price guys, but maybe this cliffhanger will keep your interest until we decide to make the next episode"

These fags prefer to replay the same 3 levels ad nauseam with no tangible plot because "dude this time I tricked the guard on the right with a coin distraction instead of a guard on the left, so much replayability and room for creativity!"
