X1 introduced everything and had you progressing through areas. X2 continued having you progress through stages and having your goal change to make things tense, while also having high energy rock. X3's grunge was alright but lackluster, Bit and Byte were idiotic additions, stages didn't change the stages up like the first two, and the visuals fell very flat with an incredibly muted color palette.

was using a controller i wasnt yet accustomed too and since it has a small ass dpad it made it harder than normal to even get there,
if i do it now i can do it with no damage but that's still the absolute worst case to open with no matter the circumstances or armor you have.

He is absolutely right about the buster upgrade. The upgraded extra shot of the buster in X3 did 1 point of damage, then flew off at angles. If used as the combo: it made shooting take longer, and only dealt its largest damage: 5 in the center and did 3 to everything else. It's a crowd attack and worse X3 tends to have very few enemies on screen in horizontal levels that can die to it.

since you cant beat high max with zero (since a bug stops all special weapons from doing damage to him) and since all but falcon armor havent been implemented you cant even traverse through all the alternate routes as X

Depends what kind of game we're talking about. There is absolutely no way it'll ever happen but Zero would work pretty well in a 3D hack n slash I think. The way Raiden moves and fights in Revengeance (aside from the bullshit super strength moments where he suplexes metal gears) is pretty much how I imagine a 3D Zero.
