What is objectively good and evil in Dark Souls in regards to lore?

define "good" and "evil"

When speaking of linking the fire, is it objectively good to do despite it being a cycle of alternating Light/Dark that will go on endlessly, or is it good to let the Dark exist forever (because for some reason you can't have perpetual light).
>>339660503
I'd say it depends on your point of view.

>Objectively
>>339660246
nothing
>>339660246
It's intentionally left vague for you to make our own decision.

Depends on whether you think it is better to end suffering or to maintain life.
Wasn't there something about the cycle eventually continuing no matter what you do? Like the fire comes back if you make everything dark?
>>339660246
There is no such thing as objective good or evil in DS.

New embers for new ages and their successors, not just re-igniting the same old flame.
>>339662537
That's what probably happens, yes.

Well yeah. That's how the world begins. So it really doesn't matter. Lesson of the game is just to chill and do your shit.
pretty sure that pontiff sulyvahn was an evil fucker
Very few enemies in dark souls are actually "evil"
For the most part they're just fauna defending their habitat
It's not about good and evil. The gist of it is that in the end, it's pointless. You can prolong the fire, knowing its very existence has created a climate of decay and strife. You're allowing life, but it is a temporary solution to the unavoidable dwindling of the flame. You have no guaruntee anyone will do it after you, so your actions would be inconsequential regardless, looking at the problem in scope. If you decide to let the flame die, darkness returns and "life" ends. Presumably all consciousness is eliminated from existence, and reality becomes a null void. You prevent the agony which exists in every cycle and therefore save others from a difficult existence, so it can be seen as just as noble as relighting the flame, but there is nothing in its stead. You've created a lifeless stagnant reality, with no good or evil. But then we find out that, even in the nothingness of the dark, light will find a way. The fire will burn again inevitably, meaning the cycle repeats no matter what you do. You have zero agency in the course of history.
Sif is objectively good.
