It's funny because PG work better when they're acquainted when they're close to the source material or is their own work, just look at MGR who worked closely with Kojima or even Anarchy Reigns, their own work

I Redboxed Ninja Turtles and it seems like it'd be fun if I could play couch co-op with my brother, but of course it's online only. Having the turtles AI-controllee was a terrible idea. They should have had turtles only show up if somebody was actually playing as them and scales enemies accordingly. Such a stupid design flaw.

The problem is Eiro Shirahama is just not cut out to direct.
He strikes me as the kind of guy who's too reserved and respectful to make actual demands and he lets the product lose direction and focus. Both Korra and TMNT suffered from a SERIOUS lack of focus on the strong elements and a seeming unwillingness to cut filler or force do-overs.
