There's some fuckery with the fragment system and the flowchart, mark my words. There's something going on there that we still haven't figured out. I don't think it's gonna be story locks, but something is gonna be preventing us from seeing the true ending early on...Like maybe an extra player character that gets unlocked later on. Could just be part of another timeline ie Phi's false ending where you jump to the start, which means it won't be mentioned in achievements.

Fair enough. Funny thing about that, Carlos - like Dio and Ace - matches up to the "Achiever" personality type. Uchi doesn't really put too much stock in this system, but it does exist in the games. Achievers tend to be the most out of touch with their emotions. Embracing the new life, or acting as if he does, while the others struggle to seems pretty accurate.

I just recently finished VLR and some time ago there was a thread about it and the first line gave away that June is in the game and how she has done some despicable things.
Of course you try your hardest not to think about it, but in the end this made the biggest plot twist less exciting for me. Had I not read that I would probably have been a lot more surprised.

According to the article the release is on the 30 in Japan and because of time zones that translate to 29 here... you don't need an "official" confirmation for that, the 30 date was already establish before and the rest is basic geographical information, you don't need Chunsoft to confirm that, yes, time zones are a thing and they still work the same

Yeah, to reach Luna end you need her login info which you get in Sigma and K ends, and to get K end you need Clover end.
To get Akane's login password you need Quark and Tenmyouji ends.
In Phi route, you need to unlock the "who planted the bombs" with Alice end, and you can't get Alice end without Dio end, which doesn't have any locks.
Then you can keep cheating the bomb passwords, but for the lock "where is bomb 0" you need Luna end, and you can get that ending first try if you cheat the passwords.

Yeah, that part blows, sorry. You can always emulate 999, and VLR plays on a Vita TV which is considerably cheaper, but I definitely recommend playing through those first. There's plenty of time shenanigans to keep you busy there, and while they SAY the last game is a standalone, I'm sure you'll get 1000% more out of it once you play the first two (5 of 9 characters are reoccurring, and they're sure to reference lots of events from past games)

My replay of 999 confirmed my old thoughts I had back when I first played VLR: they made Clover way ditzier.
999 Clover was very full of energy and emotion and course she paled compared to her brother, but I never felt like she was outright stupid in the story. VLR...well just remember the panties vs pantry scene.

999: enjoyed it wholeheartedly, just a bit annoyed by replaying the whole game every time. they seriously improved upon that one in VLR.
the long endings (sudoku puzzle and ace burning in the chambre) had me hooked completely. I literally beat the true ending in one sitting, it was just that good. the shorter endings were good as well, since some of them ended in such an unpredictable manner.

better puzzles, better way of handling the alternative routes. apart from that, mostly weaker than 999. I also didn't like the fact that the whole thing was way more streamlined; go through the cd -> finish the room -> ambidex game repeat. It's hard to put into words, but this kinda affected my experience.
I'm not gonna go in detail about each ending, but the final true ending felt a bit underwhelming. It felt like they were trying too hard to double-up on 999 in terms of mind=blown-ness and with that they kind of bit off more than they could chew, in my opinion.
The whole reveal about setting sigma up to travel in alternate universes kinda had me go "ok?" and I'm not entirely sold on it. Time travel is always a delicate matter and I bet there's plenty of plotholes in VLR, regarding that.
I also felt the ending was too drawn out. 999 definitely hit the better spot with the true ending, for me at least.
