I'm a literally who in my FC, I don't have anyone to raid with because my FC is mostly a bunch of established personalities who already have their statics set,and honestly sometimes I get the feeling they don't even like me.On top of all that, I'm not even that good at the game, but dammit, I resubbed recently anyway just because I needed something to do. It's nice to at least have a pseudo-social aspect of the game.
I can't even figure out what class I really want to stick with. I main BLM right now, but I got SCH to 60, I'm working on MCH, and I've also got WAR to 37 because I wanted to try tanking.

Lotro. Still the comfiest mmo. Great community, and still at least two more years of content. I've given up on new mmos like WoW. Lotro feels like a good mmo that stuck to its design all the way through. Not to mention the world is just the best I've seen in any mmo.

There are no good MMOs today, sadly. You just get into whatever is new so you can experience it with everyone else and try to enjoy it. It helps if you're social, cause people are willing to talk to you, but many, like myself, don't like starting a conversation in-game, somehow.
Quite literally just find one that is free and jump in if you want to try game mechanics, whatever the newest one free or paid is if you want population.
And NEVER World of Warcraft.

I'm gonna get shit for it but I'm actually a big fan of grindy Asian MMOs but none of them are all that grindy anymore honestly. I just want a MMO where it's grindy and you can group up with people but if you solo stuff it's a lot harder and you have to be good. I really like having the option and challenge, and I just wanna grind some stuff for hours with music on like back in the old days.

You could play Warframe, there's plenty of grind to go around and you can either solo or party all content but 3 missions that are forced party.
It has a difficulty upside-down bell curve though. It starts off decently challenging, then the moment you find one good weapon it gets really easy until you purposefully try to force the enemy scaling into ridiculousness (staying 2 hours in the same mission will do that and the rewards are... sufficient)

This immediately reminded me of one game. It's not an Asian MMO though, it's a Swedish first person sandbox MMO. But if it's endless grind, challenge and social stuff you want, then Wurm Online will keep you busy.
Go to the largest server, Xanadu, and you can travel and grind all day while listening to music and enjoying the scenery.
Be aware though, that real money trading is legal in that game, making it essentially fully pay2win. Not that it matters much on PvE servers. Just in case you were wondering about the circlejerking elements of its otherwise nice community.

Forgot to mention that it's medieval fantasy themed. Heavily focused on crafting and building and animals, but you could just go get some gear and kill mobs if that's what you prefer.
