I think we're just burnt out from Witcher 3 mate. The game is fundementally flawed in regards to replayability and many other facets of gameplay. Blood & WIne really highlighted just how weak the games gameplay is.
When you have a weak narrative and the gameplay of Witcher 3 you have a fucking boring game. Hearts and Stone/Vanilla circumvented this by having outstanding plots (maybe not the Vanilla but the side content was fantastic) with even some well needed changes to gameplay (better bosses in the case of Hearts of Stone) but they are always there to supplement the story.
In Blood & Wine they had a few gameplay tweaks and a outright boring plotline and it really stood out like a sore thumb. The side quests are severly lacking in qualtiy (the FUCK was with that Wine Wars bullshit?). The open world is as boring and bloated as ever.
Spoilers but here's when the game shifts drastically in quality for me:Starts off with a crazy opener once in Touissant. Goes very fast but keeps up the entertainment. Duchess isn't a sit on throne type of girl, learn all these clues and feel actual urgency looking during the Hare Hunt. Fight with the "Beast", Regis appears and is already the best character. Trying to find out the Beast's location and use a ancient torture method to do so.
Then you just forget about the Beast who has killed a bunch of people, let Regis fuck off for 3-5 hours while Geralt escorts the Duchess and her captain around the map in bleh quests that just led to blackmailers and a boring villain.
I don't understand how they hype up vampires and fuck it up not even halfway through.
I don't know man, i'm just still salty over how disappointed this DLC made me and knowing the fact that reviewers/people will gloss over its blatant issues because "LEL, IT'S WITCHER 3" just like they did with Dark Souls 2 because "LEL, IT'S DARK SOULS".
You might disagree, but many don't. Glad you're at least enjoying it.

It's not bad, it's just pretty unremarkable.
There seems to be weird graphical glitches throughout this expansion, like this with Yennefer, along with some other issues, like some of the books and notes being in Polish, the game crashing through that first cutscene after you dealt with the monster in the arena.
Hope they throw out a fix soon.

I did waste a lot of time finding markers on the map and selling the shit I found, since it was always worse than the gear I had. I found every market outside of skellige and half the ones in skellige, but I eventually stopped because frankly it's boring and the boat controls / sirens were way too annoying to do all of the ones in the ocean.

Like if the question marks in velen were linked to a small quest. Other than that the sidequests are fine. The side quests in B&W were arguably some of the weakest moments of the whole DLC, the main quest isn't as bad as people make it out to be (it's just "meh") but the side quests are complete sloths as well. I started Witcher 3 a few days ago and am loving it so far. The problem is that I just can't get myself to continue the main quest until I deal with every sidequest and every question mark on the map. It took me 15 hours to finish the first area, then I get to the second one and there's like 10 times as many question marks on the map. How do I conquer my autism and actually enjoy this game without spending 50 hours in-between every two sections of the main quest?
