Never played it, but I have it on Steam.
I'm a consolefag, so I'm too lazy to mod it. Will I get the straight up original retail experience or does the steam version have problems of its own?
What's a fun build? Thinking of doing a light armor rogue with a few alteration spells for a Morag Tong/Hlaalu run but I also kinda want to make a spear character and maybe a medium armor spellsword character
i want to play but i'm shallow enough that the old grablics will turn me off. i like my immersive RPGs to be shiny. i think the oldest i can go is like oblivion

Just get the code patch mod and the delayed dark brotherhood attack mod. The former just cleans a ton of little shit up for you, and the latter delays the beginning of a quest that will annoy the shit out of you if you don't get this mod. That's all I use.

Follow the advice about the dark brotherhood mod. Two other easy things to do that most people find add a lot are to use MGE XE and LGNPC - helps fix the graphics a bit, and reworks the text to make it tons better. Morrowind Code Project also comes with a self-explanatory installer.If you want some awesome brickshitting moments, install 'Sleepers Awake!' and don't look up what it does.
