32 games wntered, /v/ voted, and now we have our champion.
This was by far the most peaceful final round of voting we have ever had in the history of the /v/ beackets. There was a strong string of opinions that echoed the ideology that both games were worthy contenders of the title and neither side would be that upset regardless of the outcome.

Voters for Rocket League mostly argued the classic "gameplay first" ideology. Many saw Rocket League as an example of how more games should be developed, citing the Witcher as an example of how narrative-focused design has overtaken the AAA market and "dumbed down" the mechanical aspects of games in favor of cinematic and story centric gaming. Many RL voters even admitted that TW3 will possibly be remembered more fondly in the coming years than RL for its epic scale, but that at the end of the day, RL was simply "more of a videogame".
Witcher voters were less homogenous on their reasonings. Some praised the Witcher as the single best open world RPG in years or even ever, while other focused their reasoning on criticizing the competition, calling out RL as a "meme/normie game" that was no more worthy of the title than games such as Call of Duty.
>My Take
My personal favorite game of 2015 was N++, followed most likely by Bloodborne, so I didn't have any personal stake in this final round. I will say that I thoroughly enjoyed the Witcher 3 when I first played it, but don't really have the strive to go back to it ass often as I do to Rocket League, which still keeps me consistantly entertained whenever I boot it up.
That being said, I feel that TW3 was unfairly criticized here. It has a strong focus on story, yes. I would expect that from any high budget RPG. Calling it a movie game is going to far in my opinion. It still has replayability and can be challenging enough at times.
Anyway, that's a wrap. We're taking suggestions for the next bracket now.

Rocket League is a hell of a good time and I feel bad for anyone that missed out on the sale.
