Well, recent hate-train can be D44M. Many people, even some I know hated the living shit off it during the Mp beta and even livestreams. They now adore the game's campaing, some even forgave the Mp.
Also Hitman 2016 is shaping great imho so far, amist some shitty aspects. That game got many burns here.
I can't really think of a hype-and-it-turns-shit case tho.

I've been enjoying Rainbow Six Siege lately, though the community on PC is pretty shit. People just join in the middle of the match, teamkill you, and then leave to start the process over again. I'm really surprised that Black Ops 3 has nicer people playing.
