There's mods for 2 which literally combine the games.
I liked the first one but hated how the campaign eventually became your overpowered army trying to chase down each map's overpowered army and hoping you don't get totally crushed first.

There were a few LotR hero arena maps for WC3. One in particular was pretty easy and fun. It had only one lane, plenty of easy to kill spawns and every 10th minute or so the game would be stopped and 2 opposing players would be sent to duel each other in a central arena.

1 hero could wipe out entire armies
if you got goblins and made the dragon hero you would insta win the game
if the game went into midlate with a push of a button both players would wipe out everything but heroes
If elves got to get silver arrows they would instagib everything including heroes
Dwarves didn't had cavalry until later so they always got rekt
