I have gotten multiple Play of the Game award with Mercy, but they are boring as hell. Just a five man team revive and maybe dropping an enemy or two. Get no end of shit from it when it happens though from Hanzo players pissed their dragon spam didn't net the award.
Who do you main? Who do you hate to play as but do when the role is needed?
For me the latter would be Roadhog. When I need someone on point who can take a beating but keeps opponents from walking through, he is who I go with. Boring but practical.
I like that the obviously Indian chick is playing Tech Support.
That said, hiding six of her turrets in choke points is a pretty effective way to net kills and her teleporter can be a god send. Provided people recognize it will point in the direction people will be facing when they step through it (which will be facing the player) so they don't set it up facing a wall or corner.

Recently started using Mei
I'd like to use Soldier:76,McCree and Winston but I can't quite make them work
My favorite offensive character is Genji. Nothing pisses off McCree players like deflecting their ultimate back at them for an insta-kill.
Hell, I've gotten lucky and knocked back Hanzo's arrow her uses for his ultimate causing it to trigger the dragons as my attack and fucked their own team up before.
Rule of thumb, if it is a projectile (not a beam or energy weapon) Genji can absolutely send it back to the player that launches it. It can get silly at times.
Worst offensive player? Probably gonna have to go with Reaper. He isn't all that agile, his teleporter move isn't as handy as it should be, and his wraith ability is nice to avoid damage but it doesn't get rid of the threat. His ultimate is pretty beast though.
Bastion would probably be the best defensive player. Boring as hell, but his sentry ability, self-healing ability, and solid movement and standard weapon damage coupled with his fun but not too powerful tank mode make him a credible threat.
Worst defense? Trojborn. He absolutely needs a competent team to make him shine. If he does have a good team, his turrets will keep the opponents locked down and pumping out shield packs helps everybody. His ultimate is best used for slapping up a super turret quickly in a firefight though.
Tanks? Reinhardt's shield is tough to beat for serving the role as an actual tank. I don't see many who would argue against the old German being the best if not one of the best choices for an actual tank role.
Winston is shit in a lot of ways. His main weapon is garbage, his barrier is too small and his ultimate doesn't do enough damage. Worse yet he can knock players around to keep his team mates from getting good shots.
Support? Mercy is a good constant healer, however, Lucio actually WILL heal more if the squad does stay together. Still Mercy is probably the better choice. Stay with the Tanks, keep them alive and crank out the damage.

Mine is the episode where the entire team abandons the payload to chase after an enemy Tracer when the way is clear. Fuck that episode.

The only thing worse than playing solo is playing solo with a premade. Because there's a 99% chance the enemy premade is way better than yours.

I usually play pic related. I see people running through my shield every fucking game. People are anywhere BUT behind me. People are chasing Genjis and Tracers while I'm on the objective with a Mercy or Soldier holding off the enemy team.
I love to play as Pharah, Bastion or Mercy but nobody ever picks a tank so I'm always relegated to play as Rein. I'm damn good with him but I want to get good with everyone else, unfortunately everyone wants to feed their murder boners and pick two Genjis or something.
And is it me or is everyone just shit lately? In one day I went from playing with competent team to just pants on the most retarded people I have ever met. And when you play as Rein or Mercy you can tell the retards.

I don't like how Winston is cast as a tank. He shines far more as a bruiser/ disruptive type. Super Monkey Leap allows him to get to places other heavies can't, and his gun deals out a lot of damage to clustered groups of squishies. The short cooldown on his leap means you can drop in, start zapping, pop down a shield to mitigate some damage, and leap out before they can kill you. You're not meant to stand on the front lines soaking hits like a Reinhardt or Zarya, With Winston, you always gotta be on the move. On top of Genji, Winston is my go-to for flushing out snipers. The fact that his gun doesn't need aiming also means he's great at killing those darty-as-fuck heroes like Tracer and Genji who love sneaking behind your team to pick off your squishies.
The bubble shield is shitty at tanking concentrated fire, but superb for clutch-blocking ults like McCree and Reaper.
