I use concussive blasts to disrupt enemy pairings, i.e. push a mercy away from her heal target, push enemies from Soldier 76's AoE heal node, Reinhardt protecting enemy bastion. Also, use it to push enemies off the point or payload. Moreover, you can use it to outright prevent or diminish enemy ults that require a line of sight such as McCree's or Soldier 76's by pushing them behind a building or at least out from the open. Finally, you can use it as a mobility tool. If I need to change directions really fast while hovering and there's a building next to me, fire it at the building and you will gain horizontal mobility. You can even substitute as a faux rocket jump when you're "jump jet" ability is on cooldown. Honestly, it is a really underrated ability that has tons of uses. I wish its cooldown was reduced to like 7 seconds though.

Literally no difference in height if you rocket, then immediately jumpjet.
The moment you press Shift you simply go up a set distance, the game doesn't take velocity into account. The only way to get higher with a rocket jump was to use jumpjet at the height of the explosion knockback.

There is no right time. In a game where Widow exists, there's no fucking reason whatsoever that Pharah can't move during her ult, or side air dash. There's no reason for Tracer to lack vertical mobility. There's no reason D.va's useless as fucking peashotter should slow her down that much in her fucking mech.

She needs to reload after scoped shots, she needs to announce her ult globally like everyone else, she needs to have her unscopped assault rifle be Winston/D.va tier useless, because she's a fucking sniper, and not a soldier lite, and most important of all, she needs her fucking bodyshot damage reduced as to not render a fucking hero unplayable because he dies if she shoots his fucking toes.

She does announce it, but surprise, fucking surprise, the most overtuned hero in the game, also has an overtuned ult mechanic. It's the only fucking ult in the game that gives a shit about proximity. The audio system deems it not "threatening enough" to announce it globally, and so you can only hear her if you're pressed up right her sweet ass cheeks. Also, it doesn't help that her fucking ult is the only one that doesn't sound like a threatening battle cry, but a fucking whisper in French.

What's really annoying when playing Pharah is how many roofs and things in the environment she can't fucking stand on.

Pharah + Mercy is best combo, tons of mobility, damage boosted rockets and ult does loads of damage and directs can one shot tracers and zens.
