I also played through Wonder Boy in Monster Word for the Genesis for the first time about half a year ago. That game was preeeetty fucking good. Had lots of fun with it.
It's just a shame all the (North American) covert-art is absolute ass for those games.

The Dragon's Trap is one of the best sidescrollers of its era. Way ahead of its time. It's scary how simple it feels at first and how quickly it turns into butt-clenching endurance runs trying to stunlock enemies and perfectly time your jumps.
