Because Bastion has a very low skill floor AND ceiling.
You can quite easily pick him up and faceroll at lower-level games because people are retarded.
However, as you advance it'll get harder and harder for you to do anything at all, eventually getting to the point where he's basically impossible to use at higher level play. Which is why he's almost completely absent.
Its a waste of time practicing a pub-stomping character. Git gud with someone worthwhile.

If he needs a nerf, it needs to be a very light one. Make his flashbang only work on direct hit, but make it go farther. Or decrease the accuracy/damage of fan the hammer, but allow it to headshot.
Tradeoffs that make McCree put in a little more work while still being a tank killer. Because tank neutralization is one of his primary roles as an offense.

It's fair enough that mcree is the 1v1 specialist, but he's still too powerful at ambushing. If you bump into a closequarters pyro in tf2 you're in a iffy situation, but it's nothing insurmountable. With Mcree, once the absurd hitbox of pocketsand hits the deal is sealed immediately.

Well tough shit lol? Damage is all McCree brings to the table in a world of wallrunning cyborgs, time-travelling britbongs, and hammer wielding juggernauts.
His role is flanker, straggler dispatcher, tank killer. Midrange sniper from the sidelines works, too. He's meant for the damage, that's what he brings, and if you take it away in any capacity he has nothing. You've made him worthless.
Either learn how to deal with him and quit complaining or offer reasonable fixes that would get you to shut up if implemented.

In addition to making it a direct hit, Pocketsand should have a wind-up animation before it throws, maybe 1 second. If the player fails to get the fuck out of the mcree's face in that time he deserves to be punished no stops, but this way the mcree has to take a bit of a gamble in order to get that ultimate punish.

I'm not complaining anon, I'm citing facts. Traditionally, Blizz has always based their nerfs on what is creating a numbers issue in the game. Yes, Mcree can be killed, I do not debate this even for a second. but the fact that he is the go to choice 133% of the time means he is more effective in the damage role than his peers and that is infact a balance issue
Blizz will nerf him. This is not a maybe, it's coming. Unless they do a 180 on their entire design philosophy with Overwatch alone. His nerf is in the pipes.
