i already had a set of sennheisers and a desktop mic but the headphones are starting to go in one ear after about ten years. i needed a quick replacement and i was able to get those for 20 quid. i think they'll do until i can be bothered to solder the sennheisers

Needing a "good" headset for gaming is a myth made by corporations who want to sell you bassy expensive colorful and glowly crap branded with "GAMING RECOMMENDED". You don't need anything more than is functional.

You absolutely do not need studio quality headphones for games, period. Mic quality is generally only an issue if the people you're playing with are autistic - I've never had a cheap mic that was of terrible quality. If you want something more expensive, the most you should pay is maybe thirty dollars.

I bought this around a month or two ago, I haven't had any problems so far. The audio is really nice (I've only used cheap $10 headphones and a Turtle Beach before) but you'll have to buy a mic or something to go with it.
