I would rebuild the Lufia franchise, starting with a remake of Rise of the Sinistrals and Fortress of Doom.

The remake would combine the two into one game, would retain the turn based dungeoneering and puzzle aspects of L2 while introducing a hybrid ATB system that would make the combat more active and tactical. The art style would be converted into a 3d world with a Valkyria Chronicles-esque watercolor feel, but purely western fantasy designs, like the original concept art for L2. Pic related.

A sci-fi RPG empire builder game.

seeing as I have a billion USD to work with that forces the games scale to automatically be much larger than your standard game.

Imagine this, You start out With a fully randomly generated homeworld. Cities, Important people, even some parts of the major quest line in the local area and greater galaxy are all generated based on preferential variables set by the player that give certain things a greater chance of happening or being in this play through. (Think something like how government ethos in stellaris affects which research is more likely to popup)

The player gets a bit of a static start as your general "adventurer" job type with their face not being revealed as they go into the galactic registration center where they go through the normal character creation process where they also allocate points into the varrious main and sub categories (There is a list of predetermined classes that can speed this up if someone doesnt want to bother)

After getting all certified and going through the main intro cutscene outlining how the galaxy is yours for the taking and blah blah blah you go outside to meet your first companion. they are going to be important down the line for reasons I'll get into.


So with this game you have a true sandbox. You can start off by immeditly getting involved in your homeworlds military and going down the quest line of a militarist. You could simply take your small dinky ship and work up an enormous trade empire while dealing with varrious factions that get pissed off when you trade with their enemies (also piracy). Speaking of piracy you could become a pirate lord and ransom out powerful lords to amass a vast fleet of the scum of the galaxy. You could become a leader of people, using your charisma to build anew nation from the ground up and beat back the other powers.


And during this whole game you can move around as your individual character.

whichever path you take you are going to be building an empire of some type (unless you go the murderhobo route which is totally viable but you wont get to see much happen in reality)

through your quests you will pick up numerous companions that can betray you if they view you with enough hatred. Now this is an important part of the game because you obviously cant please everyone so you will be forced to deal with lets say a rouge planetary governor who not but a month ago was your best friend, perhaps a local branch of your trade empire isnt paying what it should and you have to confront the fat sweaty alien you hired to manage it all only to discover he was killed and someone you thought you killed took it over for revenge.

The empire building part of it is very literal, you can find any place to set down ( except the major populated ones) and start your life anew. Mind you proximity to other power affects how they deal with you for example setting up a pirate base in the middle of a densly populated region of space would see your ass bent over extremely fast because you can either spend 24/7 defending it or just moving it elsewhere (Because eventually even with the best defences money can buy it will eventually die). This can also be a benefit though, building a trade post in a populated region can see great profits.

Every action has long reigning ripples in this game, Maybe a disgruntled farmer hired some mercs to gun you down because when you were orbital bombarding a pirate base for the military a stray round blew up his cow pen?

the scale and actions and ammount of attention to detail is something Ive always wanted in a game. just my 2 cents.

Games would be way more lucrative than real estate and stocks. Some post just mentioned that the Witcher 2 was some 10M. ..Games like Stalker, apparently $1M for the whole series. AAA quality can be produced for almost nothing, especially now that engines are almost free (UE4 asks for somthing like 5% of actual profits). A company not producing an OG engine massively reduces production costs.

Anyway, $10M per game for $1B is 100 games. If you can't make a grand slam with 100 games..

Large scale ww2 game revolving around amphibious invasion of an island near greece or italy and attu. I just looked up some local property prices. $24k for 15 acres.

A mud-brick compressor is $2k. That could press out enough for a house in a day. Let's pretend that we have 8 neets all trying to have a house, which is plenty more than 1 acre per (in size, an acre is about 70% of an American football field with its end zones, or 16 tennis courts 4x4). Each neet would have almost a football field and a half; or it could be a tight nit community area with a huge "back yard".

Let's pretend we get 2 compressors, with 4 neets lining 2 houses with the bricks. That's some 2 houses per day. So, now we have 15 acres, 8 houses without electricity or plumbing, and $24k. That's ludicrously inexpensive. Picture relevant, my ziggurat.

The game would revolved around cute girls and most manly men + some fuck boys going after legendary treasure using some legendary treasure on them.

The reveal is that the legendary treasures belong to ayylmaos and are wmd's made by the ayylmaos who fought on a war on the main castplanet. The protagonists journey was started by an ayylmao who plans on resurrecting their race and starting a genocidal war against Humans with other ayylmaos trying to stop them along with the cast of the game.

An anime style arena fighter.
Something with a fun and deep fighting system, where every character feels unique and the terrain matters. I want complex and unorthodox fights, while still being fun and giving the players a space to tryout and test out characters abilities in new and interesting ways. It's a fighting game, but characters would have moves that aren't always strictly for fighting. I want the players to find ways to use these weird utility moves to help them achieve victory. I want players to think "hmm i can't beat this other guy in a direct fight, maybe I'll run away and set a trap"

Something like dark souls pvp(the good natural kind, where one invader fights one host and he uses the level to his advantage) where terrain matters
overwatch style "heroes" where everyone plays very differently
And a battle shounen style power system, where everyone has some unique skills and abilities and the players job is to find ways to apply them in big complex arena fights.

But at it's heart it needs to still be a deep fighting game with lots of room for players to improve. That's important too. I'd hope the game would have enough variety that something like tier list can't be made for it because of how different and incomparable all the characters are, while still being relatively balanced.

As a secret final boss if you raise your sword after beating Malus, then the black tentacles will go into it instead of you, triggering a secret final boss with Dormin, resulting in a good ending where Wander Isn't transformed into a baby.
