All your military units to build things as the norse, so you send your scout and build close to the enemy base and build up units there asap.
I always did it with ranged units, might've been axe throwers. Maybe I am confusing myself with something similar I did with Hades and archers.

How alive is the remaster online?
I remember the aom community being relatively alive but that's already a few years ago, mostly french servers for some reason.
I've already bought the game twice and I honestly don't want to support the dismantling of ensemble by giving money to microsoft and whatever company they have leeching on the aom ip, I really miss the game though.

It's pretty dead, but only because the game runs like complete dogshit. Desync is still a problem BUT they discovered finally after 10+ years what was causing it, and are trying to fix it permanently (they say they can), when they've done that, I'm sure many people will start playing it again, perhaps they can contact some ''gaming websites'' and tell them the Eternal Problem is fixed to spread the word around.
My problem with the same is that my GPU load is set to 100% when I start the game, so I can't play it regardless.

Terrible. Reskins, the developers openly admitting that the Chinese are OP so that new players can get into the game, and then there was the Vermillion birds (I think they got nerfed though).
The DLC we wanted and waited for years, and a kid in his basement could come up with a better mod.

So how did the new expansions do on AoM? Last time I played it was a few years ago.
AoE2 new 2 expansions are, in my opinion, good, while the African civs are a tad overpowered, and other bugs and glitches that were fixed in a couple of months.
How is AoM faring these days?

It's actually rather easy. What things boil down to of course is cost efficiency and resource availability, which if you have tons of vaults spawning free resources coupled with fully upgraded colossi, would make them a bit overpowered, but they're by no means undefeatable. An army of Hersir can easily deal with them, same with atlantean Hero archers.
I like the ''renewable god powers'' idea, it doesn't have to be overpowered, certain god powers could be restricted and the cost to renew them increased. For example Vaults could only be renewed every X minutes and they cost Y much favour (alot), while Bolt would be able to be renewed much faster for a lower price (not OP, only against Titans and Nidhoggs, which are overpowered to begin with).

Yeah the AoM campaign is perhaps the single greatest strategy game campaign in the history of gaming, no overexxageration. All the fucking maps are so well done, so much detail. The voice acting is professionally done, the animations are BETTER than most games today, the cinematic scenes were extremely well done aswell.
To this day I just can't grasp how they could manage to craft such a great campaign at the time the game was made.
