Don't you think you're being too harsh on this game?

If a single player campaign only gives you 20 hours of gameplay, but it's great gameplay, you'd happily give it a good review. But it a multiplayer game only gives you 20 hours, you say there isn't enough content?

What's the deal? Are you retarded or something.

>tfw got sick of Overwatch after 15 hours but still give it a solid 9.5/10
>>
>>339466748
Cause multiplayer games that are free, give you thousands of hours, a paid multiplayer game that doesn't last does not deserve good reviews.
>>
>>339467568
>if it's free, I can't get tired of it, and it's a better game because it free

Seriously?
>>
>>339468371
Its a better game because it doesn't get boring after 15 hours, whatever hypothetical game you're talking about. Being free just puts things into perspective.
>>
>>339468715
Since that free game gives you thousand of hours of entertainment, wouldn't any other game ever supposed to be shitty by your standard?
>20 hours single player game that cost $60 instead of free
>10 hours single player & hundred hours multiplayer that cost $60 instead of free
>any shit that can't give u more than thousands of hours, and cheaper than free
>>
>>339467568
but it does
>>
>>339468715
>Being free just puts things into perspective

Explain.
Unless a game you buy has some sort of recurring subscription, there's no difference other than whether or not you're poor.
>>
>>339468895
Any multiplayer game in that genre that doesn't provide would be considered inferior, yes.
multiplayer=\=singleplayer
>>
>>339466748
If I can't play a game ten years from now, it isn't worth paying for.
>>
>>339469031
How dumb are you?
Free thing better than not free thing, free thing good, me play free thing.
>>
SFV got fucking BASHED for not having singleplay mode.
Why is it okay when Overwatch does it?

>inb4 because it's a good game
so it's just bias?

You can't eat that filet mignon you had last week again, I guess the experience wasn't worth it?
>>
>>339469306

SFV got bashed for being incomplete in general, and that includes the multiplayer. Overwatch never lent itself into a position to make any promises for content like Street Fighter did.
>>
>>339469306
Well it's not like it didn't get any shit at all for no sort of campaign (especially with all this "lore" they put into it with the movies)

But one could argue there's a lot more diversity in an FPS than there is a Fighter. Meaning, for example, if there was only one map on a FPS and a Fighter, MOST people (not all) would get bored of the fighting game first before the fps.

As for Overwatch though, It's been a week, and the biggest complaint is the lack of maps. I assure you if they don't drop something big within AT LEAST the next month, the majority of everyone's view of the game will 180 fast.
>>
>>339470024
Well there's still the "promise" of free updates of maps, heroes and possibly gamemodes that people are (in less the than a week of the game's launch) clinging onto. So unless that shit drops shortly, there will probably be similar events.
>>
>>339470281

In which case if there weren't complaints, it'd be understandable. But that's something you'd leave to a period of time a little further down, yet it's not like people aren't still making noticeable mentions of it. Even if the problem did persist though, relative to what the games are expected to have, you could argue Overwatch needs more content, and you could make the defense it has enough for the time being. SFV on launch, you could only argue the former without coming off as an apologist or shill by nature for the latter.

>>

If were talking Blizz here, seeing as WoW is still kicking, I don't know.

20 years would've been a better analogy.
>>
>>339470887
You wish, wow is not going anywhere.
>>
>>339471435
Well... How long does Overwatch have then?
>>
>>339471813
Probably a couple of years, given how it for some reason exploded.
Or maybe people will get bored and quit.
I don't know. I played the beta and got bored after two days, and people ate it up, so don't ask me.
>>
>>339466748
>If a single player campaign only gives you 20 hours of gameplay, but it's great gameplay, you'd happily give it a good review.
Yes, but that's because a great 20 hours of gameplay means replay value, and that stretches the 20 hours into like 300 hours as you replay the game multiple times.

If you're so bored of the single-player campaign by the time you reach the end that you never want to play it again, that's a TERRIBLE review
>>
>>339466748
mutiplayer games are supposed to be replayable for thousands of hours.

If the game cant hold you for more than a hundred it was not good.
>>
>>339466748
>mp: designed systems for players to make experiences together
>sp: designed experiences for a player to go through
more work goes into making sp good, while mp is systems for player to make their own experiences.

Anon cmon, I wasn't the biggest fan of the game either and even I can give it more credit than that.

I'm sure the game will go through a number "reinvent" processes kinda like Diablo 3 did. Though like D3, it could just be put into a loop of updates never to actually go anywhere.
>>
>>339472821
You cant really argue opinions anon.
I was really exited for it, and then they announced it wasn't going f2p and I lost all interest. Played the beta and got bored in two days, that's just that. Game has little depth.
I would play it for free maybe on weekends, but no more than that when ft2, pr and unreal exist.
>>
>>339473007
I'm not judging, only asking.

Did the fact you had to buy the game really make the difference to you? Are you saying that if the game was in it's EXACT current state, it would be funner to you if you didn't have to buy it?
>>
>>339471952
why was Bioshock Infinite GOTY for dozens of publications then?

You are wrong.
>>
>>339473614
It has enough quality and depth for an f2p game that you play on weekends for an hour or two, is what I'm saying.
The fact that it costs money, let alone 40 bucks, and has f2p mechanics as well is just plain intolerable.
>>
>>339473897
Plus there are way better alternatives available for free. Its pointless.

>20 hours content
lmao, threre are few map, each 10 minutes, how the fuck is that 20 hours of content? i can clear it in an hour
>>
>>339466748
the gameplay is SHIT
>>
>>339473897
Can you honestly say that you wouldn't have a different opinion of the game if it had been f2p before you played it, is what I'm essentially asking.

Again, not judging, genuinely curious.
>>
>>339474350
I have played one map and one mode in CS:Go for hundreds of hours.
>>
>>339475325
but this is not 20 hours of content, its 10 minutes of content repeated 1000 times
>>
SJWatch
>>
>>339466748

Because it's actually closer to 2 hours of content. Which is shit for the price.

It was fun while it lasted, but the game just lacks content. It's the sort of thing you play with friends every now and then but not something you'd sit down and play for hours a day.
>>
>>339468371
>>339466748
You're arguing against retards who'll bash LoL and DotA2 for being casual shitfest unworthy of any praise, despite that millions of people find those games fun and free. Of course they'll bash this because they literally cannot find any joy in their life outside of bitching about videogames. They're hipsters who don't want to acknowledge that they're hipsters; they don't want people having fun with things that they claim are bad because they disapprove.
>>
>>339475269
I would have a different opinion, that's what I'm saying. The quality is decent for an f2p, but they sell it, and that's not gonna fly with me, there is not enough to warrant a buy, its not worth money.
That said, I'd be just as bored of it if it was f2p, it's the same game in the end. Difference is, I'd probably return to it from time to time to play on weekends for an hour or two.
Clear enough?
>>
>>339475549
Oh. I just thought they were poor BRs or something.
>>
>>339475549
>hivemind mentality
Not how it works.
>>
>>339475884
>That said, I'd be just as bored of it if it was f2p, it's the same game in the end.

This is the part I'm having a hard time truly believing. Not to you, but to people with the similar mentality.
I appreciate the response nonetheless.
>>
>>339476183
No problem, but I don't see why its hard to understand really.
I've played so many f2p games, I played so many games in general, if its boring - its boring, there's no helping that, you might stick around cause you have nothing else to do, but that's more telling about yourself rather than the game.
>>
>>339476920
Well it's more so the fact you said you were excited until it was announced it wasn't f2p, then wrote it off. Which a good sum of other people also did.

>>
>>339477436
Well, that was before I played it, and to be fair, it is blatantly an f2p, and everyone expected it to be, its like a spitting in your face saying "yeah, you'll pay for it anyway, were blizzard". Might have been a great competition for tf2 as well, forcing both companies to improve their games.
I did try it in beta, and the more disappointing thing to me is that it became popular while being so shallow, but then again, blizz does not provide numbers like valve does.
>>
>>339477792
And look at people buying 500$ worth of loot boxes already, its just sad.
>>
How can you get burnt out on a multiplayer game? Just play something else for a while until you want to play it again, or don't play it for so many hours consecutively every day.
>>
>>339478393
>How can you get burnt out on a multiplayer game?
You do everything that there is to be done, and the game is not interesting enough to warrant that the repeated situations are still enjoyable aka shallow gameplay.
>>
>>339466748
It's shit gameplay
>>
>>339466748
>Are you retarded or something.
You forgot a question mark, retard.
>>
>>339478393
>How can you get burnt out on a multiplayer game
what kind of question is this? play it and do everything you possibly can, if player-player interaction isn't enough or if the community is shit then whats the point.
