Mercy is a really fun character. I enjoy the frantic nature of trying to keep everyone on the team alive, as well as keeping track of the enemies so they don't get you. Being able to give teammates a power boost is also great, and if you find yourself alone, her gun is surprisingly powerful.

This is why when you look at analytics older players tend towards support an healing roles while younger people tend towards dps and carry roles.
Aside from the natural degradation of twitch reflexes over time older people understand sometimes you have to do the 'less fun' thing to win whereas younger players would rather 360noscope try and go 20 and 2 but lose because they have to be the hero with the youtube montage.
I guess you could look at it the otherway and see older people as ground down by society to accept that they're cogs in the machine while younger players wont take anything less then the hero role.
I only play support because I suck at aiming and like 80% of the time it's the only way I can be useful. Minus the times where I can play Torbjorn or Junkrat where great aiming isn't really required.
