Most PC gamers already have backlogs (myself included), why pirate when waiting a few months will enable you to get it for super cheap in a steam sale legally? And if you wait over a year, you can get the bundle with all the DLC for a few bucks.
>>
>>339458649
>Piracy is over
Yeah yeah. Hear that shit since the late 80s.
>>
>>339458649
>v3
When you have to specify a version because previous versions were cracked or bypassed it might be a little soon to declare piracy over.
>>
DRM can always be cracked by humans because it was created by humans, it just takes time and effort. DRM is worth it to publishers because it normally takes so long to crack it that a lot of pirates give up and buy the game before it is cracked.

If anything ever stops piracy, it'll be the game industry creating something like the RIAA or MPAA and lobbying for stricter enforcement of the law.
>>
>>339462083
I'm not buying shit. Try Before I Buy or no buy. All Denuvo does is prevent those sales. Normies that buy everything will continue to buy with or without denuvo.
>>

>"Lol you're shit"

>>

Yeah, because the RIAA and MPAA have stopped music, film and TV piracy... oh shit, no they have not.
>>
>>339458649
But it's immoral to stop me from stealing games
>>
>>339462859
The ultimate DRM would post your browser history to your contacts list if you pirate
>>
>>339463018
Are you talking about Doom? Do you really think I give a shit as a pirate?

My game backlog goes on for years. Give me a reason to try your game or fuck off. I've got plenty to do that doesn't involve your drm shitware that'll be cracked by the time i'd even care.

Just let them have their thread.
Let them believe what they want.
>>
>>339463042
They've made piracy hard enough that for normies that try it, they'll get scared straight pretty soon by a letter from their ISP telling them to stop or else they'll have their service cut off. Only the the most tech savvy pirates look into things like getting a VPN and shit, but even that's not perfect because law enforcement can tell the VPN provider to give them the pirates info.

So piracy will never be 100% stopped, but they can continue to raise the barriers to entry for it to reduce the amount of piracy happening.
>>
>>339463018
For multiplayer, which was universally panned by negative Steam reviews.

For single player there was nothing.

I'm sure it will be cracked sooner or later but the really funny thing is hearing about how badly the Denuvo games are doing. Is anyone still playing Doom online at this point?
>>
>>339463294
>your game
I haven't even played it yet, my backlog is too big as well to justify getting it now. I didn't make the game either, it's not mine.

>I've got plenty to do that doesn't involve your drm shitware that'll be cracked by the time i'd even care.
Well by that logic, it'll be $5 on Steam by the time you care so why pirate?
>>
>>339463464
>For single player there was nothing.
Aren't the basic mechanics of the game the same in multiplayer and singleplayer, and people hated the multiplayer for different reasons?

Doesn't look like that in PIA's case.

Paying with gift cards and using temporary anon email providers that destroy it in 10 minutes. I guess that doesn't really matter if they have your IP, but like it said in the link, they only gave a large cluster of IPs used in the time frame, which doesn't help in the slightest for the FBI, so they fucked off.

I'd rather use my money to buy things you can't get for free. It's all about maximizing your benefits with the money you have. It's the most wise decision if you use logic.

But I understand that irrational consumers love to waste their money.

you must be really poor if you cannot afford all the media you want. Even then there are game bundles and sales. Unless you're a neet you got only 30~40 hours a week to play/watch. What's wrong about supporting your hobbies?
>>
>>339463761
Which just adds another barrier to entry, people who still want to pirate will have to do research into what VPNs will keep their privacy protected and which ones don't. The US government could also pass a law requiring that VPNs do log their customers' information. Hypothetically, law enforcement could become so strict that non American VPNs refuse to do business with Americans just like a lot of shady firms outside of American prefer to not work with Americans trying to hide their money because they don't want the IRS breathing down their necks. I doubt it'll ever get that bad in the near future, but still.

>>339464275
And how many people do you think called their ISP like you did to get off the hook? There is still a barrier to entry because it requires effort to find out what you did. And how many ISP's are like yours? In America at least, a lot of ISPs have monopolies where they exist, so customers can't threaten to switch.

I'm starting the think the person at the ISP just sympathized with you. The internet is such a huge part of everybody's lives now, I doubt they took your threat very seriously.
>>
>>339465630
You've never dealt with an ISP or insurance company, have you?
>>
>>339465728
Not personally, but when I was young Qwest had a monopoly where I lived and my parents hated dealing with them. We switched when we moved to an area that had competition (but we didn't move for the internet thing, being able to switch was just an added bonus of moving).

That isn't a bypass it is family sharing, you can family share a game with up to 5 people.

All the Russians are doing is buying the game and then selling people access to family share their game. Don't blame them to be honest, they must be making a load of money from these degenerate piratekeks and basically having the game pay for itself.

i don't know what ToS is, but steam has done literally nothing to stop it for months now so i guess they don't care

i was of selling accounts this way too. you buy a game and sell it 300 times. and it's pretty much risk less.

I was 11 and in class and we were doing some kind of psychology thing, can't fucking remember. At one point the teacher got a girl wearing a too-short skirt to sit on a chair on a table, I think to demonstrate some shit about viewpoints.

>We can all literally see her vagina because she didn't bring panties to this barn dance
>Deathly silent classrom
>Vagina just fucking there, in front of us, starting back at the same height
>She's up there the rest of class because teacher forgot and she doesn't say shit.
>About half way through she jumps and shifts position to hide our view to the glorious portal

I'm still hard, I don't even enjoy voyeurism now but this experience is my ultimate cure for whiskey dick or double-bag or this six I got in an overly elaborate post but for an incidentally true story . She never wore skirts again though which sucks, and was probably deeply traumatic.

Nobody ever fucking said anything though, we didn't even talk to each other about it even though there is no chance one of us missed a blantant direct full on vagina essentially winking and making catcalls at us.
