As good as Bloodborne is vidya wasn't in danger, at least not in any way Bloodborne could have helped.

Well, I have to admit Bloodborne's the best of this current generation but Demon's Souls started it all, that's the savior of modern videogames.

Bloodborne is the prolly the best 3rd person action pve game available. I still think of the first time when going through the hunters nightmare and approaching the cathedral from the steps, only to witness a huge monstrosity come out screaming and crushing two grunt npcs. Or the first time walking into the orphans boss arena

I really didn't like the game. I know I'm committing an act of heresy, but it was just so fucking bland. I got it super cheap on one of the sales, so I'm not that salty. It was also hailed as HARDEST GAME EVER, but it wasn't that at all. I much prefer a game like Bayonetta 2.
I might try to give it another chance in a couple years.

before Bloodborne, the only 3rd person rpg that had combat which I liked was Vindictus (at least out of any I tried over the past few years), which had weirdly good/fun core combat surrounded by shitty korean mmo online play, source engine physics and basically terrible everything else. The pve was really fun, especially compared to most MMOs which are just tab-and-hotkey fighting.
I was really excited to see really great core combat when I played bloodborne for the first time, especially in comparison to the other AAA PS4 games I watched my roommate play. All the fun I had beating things up in vindictus, without all the pants on head retarded everything else

Bloodborne really just made me realize how far video games had fallen in terms of game design.
It was one of the few genuinely fantastic games I had played in years. Because it felt like a game from the early 2000's.

It is without a doubt the best of the five Souls games and its one of the best games of the entire fucking generation.
