NX is being delayed extensively on purpose. It's a good idea, not a bad one, although actual leaks will be crippling to their strategy and they are leakier than ever at the moment, so that's not so good.
March is actually a good release time after I've thought more about it. At first I was like, this is retarded but it makes sense that they launch during an unassuming time when other companies are in no way prepared for something like that.
Also in Japan golden week is like a month later, which is perfect timing. (Remember this is a Japanese company, no matter how hard NoA tries to tell you otherwise).
It will also allow extra time to develop titles for the November game rush, as well as build on launch titles with add-on content which is their new thing (for Wii-U anyway, which was all about vertical development instead of horizontal development).
