I just finished Growlanser and I'm looking for a Growlanser II undub .iso. Growlanser 1 was way too easy and there were a lot of simple fights where autobattle was sufficient but it and the series does some things that make battles a lot more fun: you move around the map, there's a wait time associated with attacks and movement, the level design of each battlefield plays a role, and there is more to think about than simply killing the enemy (protecting NPCs, reaching a location, etc). Growlanser IV in particular is very fun to play. It's too bad that other games don't use this sort of battle system.

Hard to say.

For TRPG I'd say maybe less than 20%(haven't finished the game myself) but they can be pretty long sometimes. They happen usually at the end of each episode. The dating sim parts are basically collecting stat points for each character in the TRPG part of the game since there's no grinding/leveling. I'd strongly compare this to the Danganronpa games if you've played them.

They're alright, it's like a good long break from the dating sims parts and nice to see how much stat points you've collected for each of your characters for your next battle. The battles are simple but not too simple and is sometimes broken up into 2 parts(from what I've seen). Part 1 being the enemies and how to deal with them and part 2 is dealing with the boss which can hit pretty hard, specially if that character doesn't have enough stat points. Knowing where to go and when to defend or go for an all out attack while leaving yourself defenceless can be crucial. There's various skills/ specials ect. when dealing with enemies and bosses too so there isn't much "mash A to win"(well you gotta select choices so I guess it is mash A to win, depends on how you look at it). There's even some team combo the game never tells you about for whatever reason or some shit. Biggest problem with this game is there isn't much infomation on it from what I've seen.

Lulu becomes useless as soon as Wakka is able to knock out the flying element enemies just as quickly. Then either Tidus or Wakka's feeds right into Auron's so you do need him for Break skills anymore.

I had a similar experience. Fucking hated it at start and regretted buying it, but after beating Seimei for the first time I became hooked.
The combat is simple but that's all a game like that needs. The story is weak but fit for purpose. The main thing is how engrossing it is to develop your clan how you like. Choosing which gods to reproduce with for appearance and stats never gets old. It has huge replay value.
The only problem is how confusing it is to start with. Having to find a key in one dungeon to open a door in another, whilst having limited time to do so, and being unable to progress until you do it was really frustrating, especially considering each time you make a new game you get randomised starting dungeons so it doesn't do much good to look for help online. Still, once you get over that initial hurdle, it all makes sense and it's great.

Got the HD remasters and played X for 8-10 hours (some idle time skewing the hours) and it's fucking amazing. Kinda wish I didn't use the expert grid though since I've essentially ended up going down the typical routes.
Also played the intro and first mission of X-2 again and it now feels weird as fuck. Active battle can eat a dick.

He's ultra tanky. You can make his HP really high with the right master (that fisherman guy, iirc), and his regen scales with it. The game isn't challenging enough to make him especially worth using, but if you love the game and are replaying it, it's a fun thing to do.
Speaking of BoF3, did anyone miss that fisherman master (Giotto I think his name was)? I replayed the game literally 3-4 times before even realising he existed.

I'm playing Persona 4 and I'm stuck in the Bathhouse right now. The difficulty ramp from the last dungeon to this one is fucking insane.
I'm thinking about just restarting and just following a guide the whole way through so I can get all the social links to 10, get all the stats maxed, not have any difficulty in figuring out the bullshit fusion garbage because it'll be spelled out in front of me, and just have a better time in general. Every time I try to do anything it's shot down because I don't have enough of that stat, I'm getting steamrolled in the second dungeon, and it's just really not fun. Which is disappointing. I love the story of this game so far, but it's just fucking ridiculous how difficult it is for a newcomer to get into this game.

Main characters very likable, made the journey more comfy even if the battle system got repetitive and the story didn't explain everything, still liked the ending though

The characters seemed quite good except for Gaius. The relationship between Jusis and Macchius was fun to watch, although it ended kind of one-sidedly.
And they probably did stretch things out to cover one full game, but for that reason you can't really criticise the story. It's just the prologue. Nothing that meaningful can happen, but it successfully built hype for the second part.
Also I don't really get the criticism of the combat system. Yes, it was unbalanced, but in a JRPG having a perfect combat system isn't necessary. Most of the great JRPGs had fucked up combat systems with either no challenge or blatantly broken mechanics. CS has a fast-paced combat system, lots of spells and abilities, and some element of strategy due to positioning and meaningful buffs/debuffs. It's fit for purpose at least and far from terrible.

From my understanding, it was an eidolon that got sealed away for being impossible to control (like Leviathan) but it was so long ago that tales and knowledge of its existence disappeared and it lost its form. That's how I understood it, anyway. And I'm not sure how it is going to relate into FF14.

With my recent purchase of Overwatch have I been completely enamored. I wanna play a JRPG, but, at the same time, I feel this sense of 'duty' to play OW. At least, until Star Ocean 5 releases.I've also been playing some MH4U on the side -- been meaning to get into the series.

Not really a classic, but I just finished Trails of Cold Steel. It was surprisingly great, despite not really having much of a major driving plot.Also, Sara best girl. Cougars 4 lyf.

Suikoden II is probably the most defining Suikoden. It hasn't aged very well and the translation is absolutely terrible, but it's the "main" Suikoden game overall. Suikoden V copied it in many ways and is a good game on its own. Suikoden I is ugly as sin and very shallow compared to II, but the hardcore nostalgiafags love it. III has some very questionable gameplay decisions and shitty direction, but there's a decent tale hiding behind it all.
