WHERE THE FUCK IS IT TEAM NINJA?

YOU PULLED IT DOWN, BUT I WANTED MORE.

YOU HAVEN'T EVEN ANNOUNCED A RELEASE DATE.
>>
thank fucking god the durability system is gone

shame they're gonna dumb down the shortcuts and bosses, that first boss was harder than anything in a souls games
>>
>>339421543
I watched a 5 minute speedrun of the games demo on YT, the boss fight went for so long at Lv 1
>>
>>339422274
>>339421983

I loved that, though.

First boss should always be the one to git you gud.
>>
>>339421983
First boss was easy, second boss pushed my shit in until I figured out you could stand underneath the archway/door you walked into the boss room to stop his lighting blasts and prevent the stamina draining aoe that came with it.
>>
Reminder this game was to hard for the nips
Japanese superior gamer myth btfo
>>
>>339421983
Except the game was balanced fine with durability in mind and for once it actually made a difference instead of being a literal nonstat. That they can so casually remove a core mechanic based on the feedback of mainly, lets be honest, people that didn't understand how to offer things or that didn't even get particularly far in the demo, should be cause for concern. They need to do another demo.
>>
>>339423286

This. Fucking Japs complained that it was too hard and the final release is receiving nerfs across the board to make it more casual. Thanks Japan, you fucking softcocks.
>>
Wish I could play
>>
>>339423286
How about you wait until your average whitey gets his hands on it, my child?
>>
>>339425670
>I have to protect my asian superiority myth
>I'll shit talk white people even though they all got to play the same game and said it was great and the difficulty was spot on
>even the eurocucks, the origin of whitey had an easier time in nioh than the japs
>>
>>339421543
>tfw kids on /v/ think having to wait for Ni-Oh for a couple of months is a big deal
I've been waiting since 2004.
>>339421983
They already ruined it by taking the durability out? That's a shame. Too bad they made the demo available for a limited time only.

Its going to have pvp right?

R-RIGHT?
>>
>>339426287
Most of the changes are vague, either in the "obviously that would be better" sense or the "but just how far will they go?" sense. Others are just plain not necessary or in the game already (Himorogi Branch lets you exit to map just fine). The most worrying changes are to the stagger when out of Ki and removing Durability, that could have devastating consequences on the whole gameplay system.
>>
>>339427769
Already confirmed

Chances are though: it'll probably be broken.
>>
>>339427769
Apparently the director mentioned something about meddling with the worlds of another player beyond that of the revenants, so it's likely.
>>
>>339428182
I just hope they do something else with healing items.
Grinding healing items is never fun.
>>
>>339428182
Fucking site gets pissy about me doing two extra lines for my post to say the change list is linked on their Twitter, and when it finally works it replies to the wrong post, was meant for >>339426121
>>
>>339428479
Healing items were so easy to get though from just offering the stuff you found. I almost always left every shrine with 10 even if I had to use them. It's pretty much guaranteed there'll be a shop though along with the blacksmith, which makes any durability complaints even more ridiculous.
>>
>>339428381
Who was the director for this? It wasn't Moonman was it?
>>
>>339429407
Not sure who you mean by that, but I believe it's Kou Shibusawa.

Again!? Haha, these fucking Japs man, they always complain about difficult games, why the fuck does /v/ praise those fools when nearly every single genre created were a casual rip-off of it's Western counterpart. The last game they bitch and complained was a Vita game, that should tell you everything you need to know.
>>
>>339429628
Shibusawa's producing and co-writing it; it's being jointly directed by one of the head DoA guys and another guy I've never heard of.
>>
>>339430073
Ah my bad, if I had to guess the other guy probably worked on the Ninja Gaiden games. Hopefully he learned that "adjusting" should mean "make it harder because they complained about it being too hard"

Moonman.

I should have known you meant Oatagaki, but he left Team Ninja long ago. With any luck the team in charge of Nioh will follow his philosophy though.

Thing is that it wasn't more challenging it was just more punishing. Nioh incorporated a lot of the Dark Souls designs without know the rhyme or reason they were in place to begin with
>>
>>339433653
I wouldn't say that. Each enemy's moveset was pretty well designed and you're only really punished by having to actually take care of your equipment or having spares if you're really early on, which isn't a really big deal. Losing the guardian spirit until you get to where you died seems a lot more fair in comparison to some of the Souls series' typical on-death punishments of losing chunks of your health, especially since you can just choose to forfeit your Amrita and return it when at a shrine.
>>
There was a 1.02 update for the demo last week, but the game itself is still inactive. It's bizarre.
>>
>>339421543
Yes they have. 2016.
>>
>>339423286
They used to be in the old days of NES and SNES but those people quit and became salarymen. Now they think FF15's demo is too hard
>>
>Download alpha demo
>Decide to finish Dark Souls 3 before trying
>Finally finish
>Alpha is closed
Pretty lame, desu.
>>
>>339435589
wat

I thought the demo was pulled due to being limited time. Why would they update it?
>>
>>339435589
That's very interesting. If this were the good timeline they would be updating the demo to bring it live again with the proposed changes and have a new feedback form, but this time have it only available to people able to complete it solo.
>>
>>339428182

I'm pretty sure nothing has been confirmed to have changed, they just noted the most common comments.
>>
>>339436545
Nothing is changed yet, but it's definitely worded that it's what they're planning to do, and it's the closest thing to a confirmation we can get since the game's not out yet.

For anyone that hasn't seen it here's the list if it'll let me post it this time.

>>339431774
I fucking miss Itagaki. He had good direction for the series. Marie Rose and Honkers were cancer, but at best they keep those NEET waifufags penned up in their generals
>>
>>339437236
I wish Devil's Third just didn't happen, I think it's ruined his career at this point.
>>
>>339435967
This is how I felt, even though I chose to play the alpha.

I mean, come on. Give it more time than that. You're ruining your own marketing by putting this relatively obscure souls-like game up on PSN the same day as DS3 and then taking it down while the embers are still warm, Team Ninja.
>>
Souls casuals ruined this game
>>
In regards to durability, I didn't get very far in the demo because I was busy with other things at the time, and didn't see any of the bosses, but I did completely run down the durability of six weapons, so, was there something I could have done to prevent that?

Like, I know The souls games' durability is basically pointless, but I kinda got to a point where it was like "Well, I'm screwed now. Might as well start over."
>>
>>339439109
You could either offer up all unwanted equipment at a shrine, or break boxes and pots to acquire whetstones.
>>
>>339439109
There was consumable repair items for both weapons and armor. Plus a blacksmith was mentioned during one of the loading screen hints and in the help explanation for the as-yet unutilized familiarity mechanic, but that hadn't been implemented into the demo.
>>
>>339439319
Did offering get me more than souls/whatever the currency was?

And I knew about whetstones, but they didn't seem to drop very often. I suppose I could have farmed them.

>tfw you got flu one day before the demo went live and only got better after it was taken down
Fuck.
>>
>>339439436
When you offered items at a shrine, you occasionally received something extra in return. Some of these things were whetstones and other shit I can't remember.
>>
>>339439853
Did item rarity play into how likely you would get stuff? I forgot if it did.

>You have to defeat player ghosts to get cups to call co-op players
>Which means people I join aren't complete scrubs
>Dying in co-op has no punishment
Thank you for this system, I'm gonna enjoy co-oping other people's games
>>
>Have a new fast-paced take on a fan-favorite genre.
>Decide to only open your alpha test for three days

I get it for MMORPGs, but for this game?
>>
>>339440027
I want to say it did, but at the end of the day you got enough equipment that you were guaranteed at least a bunch of stuff.
>>339439853
It was elixirs, whetstones, glue and spirit stones (bonus amrita).

But yeah when you're at the point early on when you didn't have many whetstones, you tended to not have any stand out weapons anyway, so you could just swap through everything you found without worrying if you needed the max damage.
>>
>>339440658
It was open for like 2-3 weeks dude, every other game would be around forever afterwards there wasn't really an excuse you coulda conquered.
>>
>>339440658
It went from April 25 to May 5, if you missed it, that's your fault cause you had time
>>
>>339427769
Fuck PvP. Ruined way too many primarily PvE-focused games and I don't want them to waste time and resources on it unless they have way too much free time.
>>
>>339441642
>Game that will likely be a hit with players of Dark Souls
>Have alpha going while those people are still in the middle of new Dark Souls game
>>
>>339441642
>>339441539

So two weeks, and that's it.

It makes sense for MMOs, because they want players to decide which classes they're going to play. It makes no sense for this game.
>>
>>339441868
All they'd have to do is take main gameplay, leave it untouched and it to a pvp system.

Beating a souls game was only half the fun for me, the other half was fucking around with otherplayers.

When the game comes out, there will be two kinds of people. Those who got the mark of the conqueror and those who didn't.

Have fun being one of the ones who didn't.
>>
>>339441884
DS3 wasn't be going anywhere though. I played both with a focus on Nioh. You can criticize their timing sure but if you knew the deal you should've prioritized.
>>
So
not the boss

but the encounter before the first boss

how
>>

The group of dudes before the beach? Use your bow and climb round to drop from above. Pretty ez, you get plenty of distance and vantage points.
