If you play symmetra more times than not you are dragging your team down, while tolberone does not facilitate first point defense as well as him with a tele would. I have like 12+ rl friends who play this, its insane (insane since they're related to me from various background like uni, work, friend of friend). I'm pretty much 99% of the time in a full groupe with discord on. I urge everyone to do this, its incredible.

Roadhog is incredibly hard to kill, but he also gives ults fast so if you're fighting 6 of them you can pretty much just nonstop ult them if everyone keeps shooting them
I'm not bored with it, I just find myself increasingly frustrated as I climb in level. I'm mediocre with most of the characters and 9/10 times I feel incredibly ineffective on my team. I did, none of them feel intuitive. Even easymode Soldier 76 feels like he doesn't pack enough punch.
I played Reinhardt consistently well until most people figured out that you just have to get him on either side with two people.
Mercy is another one I played well until I started dying more often than I was healing.

you can float in the air with space until your l. shift recharges. so if you still have the healing beam attached you can boost back to your pocket and stay alive. generally as mercy a not shit team is going to be trying to focus you constantly since you keep the team alive. stay mobile and use l shift to get heals to teammates who need them. if you dont have any friends to play with try to get good with the pistol since most players are retards who wont help you if you get attacked.
