gud, I hope you pirated it. be sure to get the new patch that came out today, it's God tier patch. fixes the fish eye effect when in senses mode. UI is better and map is far better.

I personally enjoyed the first one, 2nd was ok, third is magnum opus stuff.
Just watch some lore on the other games and jump in. Not really needed for 3, but it helps to knw some background.
