Like I said, all ym friends and their friends play vidya. My boss and coworkers play vidya. We even agreed on a great series during the job interview. A girl I had not seen for years had bought a SNES and collection of games for it the next time I saw her. We played it the whole night instead of going out to drink. The first problem is that gaming isnt seen on the same level as another hobbies, at least not here. It is seen like films, but without the art - just pure entertainment. That is something we as "gamers" need to eradicate - by showing society that gaming has depth and that we can play and be functional human being at the same time. It is just not considered "worthwhile". They would say that when you are a car hobbyist, you understand cars better and can help people. On the other hand, how would you employ your videogame knowledge IRL?
The second thing is, that when you see something like this wall, you immediatelly think "that must be his one and only hobby" even if it isnt true. Its just excessive. A person with many hobbies is interesting, a person with one is boring. Everyone has that one friend that is obsessed with something - and you know how that can get annoying quicky.
