generally weapons like Lucky or Pew Pew which have high critical damage or high critical chance will be your best bet
depending on how much you want to min-max you could start with 6 or 7 points of luck and get to 10 using items, this might be a good idea because 6 luck is the highest needed for all the luck related perks

I'm thinking about running him as a counterpart to Benny. While Benny used to wander the wastes and settled down in Vegas, and now wants more power, my courier would have a past of a somewhat important position in the NCR, and left because it was too monotonous for him.
I don't know which storyline I should follow, all are valid with that background.
He could help the NCR out of sympathy for his country, or see them as stagnant and help the Legion.
He could work for House because he admires what he does, and he would have a lot of freedom under him anyway. He also loves casinos, and Vegas only exists thanks to House.
Then there's Yes Man, it's the Wild Card ending, but my character doesn't strike me as ambitious, or interested in running a city.

With caps being so ridiculously easy to come by, I've not crafted a single bullet in the 500+ hours I've put into the game.
Because done properly, NCR has the greatest amount of good endings for everybody. I think the only major exception was Goodsprings.
Besides, there are too many negative implications with the Yes Man ending. What happens when the Courier dies? What if he's killed? What if people decide they don't want to obey him? What if Yes Man goes full Skynet?
With NCR, at least you know more or less what's going to happen. Laws, taxes, and probably more than a few blunders, but ultimately people will be better off. Primm is a perfect example of that if you put NCR in power there. The locals have to adjust to strict laws and taxes, but they also experience unprecedented prosperity, and the possibility of criminals coming in and taking over is nonexistent.

I've been jonesing for good Fallout lately.
I tried Far Harbor, but I've been playing on Very Hard and kind of hit a wall where all the enemies are too tanky for the game to be fun, but I'm still not dying fast enough to feel endangered. Any lower difficulty would make it easy to the point where I might as well be watching a let's play, and Survival's weight/illness system doesn't actually sound enjoyable to me. I like carrying around a shitload of entertaining weapons like a 90s shooter and switching on the fly.

Is it just me or is the AER9 Laser Rifle the most dependable and versatile weapon throuought 90% of the game? Sure, ammo is hard to come by in the early game and the damage is a little low in the late game, but outside of that, i don't see a valid reason to carry any other weapon in my inventory. Ammo quickly becomes easy to come by with Viglant Recycler and Fission Batteries to the point where you'll get overloaded from optimized ammo alone, durability is good and spare parts are very easy to come by, it has a decent scope and great critical hit chance, good firerate with damage to boot and just looks good with fucking everything. I've used it so much for so long that even when i try to use another weapon or another build entirely, i just end up treading the same path for the same parts to optimize my trusty Laser Rifle, it's just that damn good.
Why are you still using outdated firearms when you can wield fucking lasers, Anon?
