No, I don't hate anime per se. I do hate what it has turned into. Anime took a nosedive in quality ever since the early 2000s and has now reached depths a sane man couldn't even imagine. DMC caters to the cheesy anime aesthetic I grew to despise and only a true virgin completely deprived of social interaction could find cool.
As much as I love fast-paced action, I'd always choose the aforementioned games because DMC's style (or rather lack of) completely kills it for me. God Hand and MGR are more up my alley.
