TF2 has always had a "competitive" scene. Its called UGC and its been around for years. Its only now, 9 years after the game first came out that Valve is finally adding it in because they're desperate for people to keep playing it.
TF2 in itself isn't worth watching as an e-sport, it just doesn't function right. Besides, the whole scene got tainted when hundreds of "pros" got perma B& for using hacks
