It was okay, but Dying Light's superior in every way.
It was pretty enjoyable. Like Fallout.
They were nothing special, but I really liked the analog melee combat system, and wish we could see it implemented in more games

I liked it and Dying Light for different reasons. I really loved the analog melee and dismemberment from this: I found a really good fire axe fairly on and spent fucking ages just decapitating zombos.

Yeah. It's slow and the story is silly. It was neat at the time and the zombie physics are still interesting to play with. But Dying light is superior in every way. I never finished Dead Island even though I was hyped for it when it came out. It gets old towards the end but it's worth a play.

Drags on for way too long. It also feels extremely empty and lonely without a friend to play with, more so than other single player games.

How is the actual remaster itself. Me and a buddy and a blast playing these coop back on ps4 and wanna do it again on ps4? I don't care of the remaster fixes none of the bugs the original two were riddled with, I just want to know if it's still playable and not fucked like other remasters

It's kind of fun with random co-op, but you run into a lot of "dudebro private parties" while browsing the public matches, and most of them inmediately kick you out if you join in on them.
The ones that don't can be kind of fun though.

I enjoyed it. I know it has a lot of flaws, but I like fetch quest games like this, great time wasters.
I recommend that you max out your guy in the arena room before venture out into the main game.

Different anon here, I've played a decent amount of dying light. Got around 51 hours and I still haven't beaten it. I've only went public once, because I usually have some friends to play this with, when I did I met a really cool guy. If you can find people to communicate with its much better. I don't mean communicate as in game tactics, just basic convo. Playing without anyone talking is essentially just playing single player. If you can find friends or cool randos it's a fucking blast. If you cant, single player is a blast aswell

The Definitive Collection said it was going to bring enhanced combat, hopefully guns in the first game will be useful
