I don't understand why it's so hard to bring pokemon to the home console. I understand that in the past trading pokemon was only possible with both players in the same location. you don't need that anymore.

99% of people on their first play through will just over level 1 pokemon and one shot everything. After your first play through, they don't even matter because you just abuse type advantage. They only make battling other players more interesting, but why would you ever go to an older version of the game for that in the first place? And no, playing the most modern game for PvP does not mean it's the best one.
