Seriously, what's wrong with developers nowadays? Even back in the day most PS2 shooter games (Red Faction, Half life) had the jump button on L1 because it makes much more sense. That's not a matter of opinion or preference, the jump button being on a face button is a huge disadvantage because you have to take your thumb from the right stick. No matter how fast you can do it - shoulder buttons are always the better solution because your thumbs stay on the sticks at all times. Claw using disfigured rejects need not apply.
Also, why are there no two buttons on the back like on the steam controller or Xbox Elite one with the paddle things. And I'm aware that you can change the button configurations with the ps4 but it's still a hassle changing it between the games.

It's important in most multiplayer games, it's quite the advantage. Especially in fast paced games like Doom.

I find it unacceptable for any game to not have fully customizable controls. I have no idea why it seems to be so rare on console games. That said, the obvious solution for shooters is to use gyro for aiming in ps4 games. It is more accurate and lets you use the face buttons more easily. (Assuming PS4 gyro is as accurate as Wii U)
