Two episodes into 1-4, what did you think?

Von Karma doesn't really feel as threatening if he needs to be beaten to extend the trial like that

Great, actually

They skipped over some minor stuff (like Penny), but overall it was really well done and had a lot of extraneous character building scenes which were cute

>They skipped over some minor stuff (like Penny)
what? how?
so they just skip the Samurai trading cards?
>>
So is the anime adaptation any good? Loved the AA movie, but I'm getting kinda sick of AA1. I wish they'd adapted some manga only cases or made up new cases instead.

Yeah, this is all she gets

I mean, it makes sense - they're strapped for time a little and if they want to do justice to the big cast of characters they gotta cut some corners, and Penny never really added much

>>339248941
It started kind of bad (mostly animations wise) but it's pretty great now. There's added scenes endorsed or written by Takumi which are great

Later in the episode, they have a scene with portraits of all the possible whodunnits, and penny shows up as the last of them - Even though she never had a speaking line and we don't even know her name.

It's not terrible, but I couldn't help but question it.

I feel like the pacing in the anime is a little odd especially in the investigating parts I think it's best to play the game before watching the anime because they did things like show penny as one of the possible suspects even though she didn't have more than 4 seconds of screen time. Also you can enjoy little small details like knowing that grape juice is Wright's favorite drink.
>>
>>339250712
you could always emulate the GBA/DS versions
>>
>>339253806
These types of adaptations tend to be as a service to the long running fans and to draw new people into the franchise. They're almost never done to stand on their own.
What it means is that this will have a bunch of little details that you won't get if you didn't play the games, and it will very obviously not cover the whole franchise so anyone who got in with the anime will have to play the games if they want more.
>>
>>339249048

I think they did that because they wanted to make Maya's emotional arc of the first game a little more poignant

This new post is a (sliiiiiiiightly) fictionalized account by director Yamazaki of how he came up with the main theme of AA6. AA5's theme was "the destruction of the court", and they needed to go with a theme that had even more impact for the sequel. But what could surpass AA5's theme? The birth of the court? The evolution of the court? The court in flames? An ancient court? A court beneath the sea? A court in outer space? Obviously, none of these themes were good. He needed a better, catchier keyword.

And as Yamazaki was desperately trying to come up with something, by came producer Eshiro.
Eshiro: Still got no theme, eh? Lemme see what ya have. Ha, what kind of crap is this?!
Yamazaki: I'm terribly sorry. I'm doing my best.
Eshiro: Ah, I guess this is beyond yer 'talents'. Of course, I never expected much of ya. Ya gonna quit? I've got more than enough replacements for ya (grin
Yamazaki: NOOOOOOOoooooo!

Cornered by this heartless dictator, Yamazaki thought: I'm not going to take this anymore. I'll ******** you! Time for a revolution!

And so, AA6's theme became "The revolution of the court" (in reality, they just thought about the theme a lot). At the meeting where Yamazaki announced this was the games theme, his team members asked him what he meant with the theme.
Yamazaki: Still haven't thought about that.
'Talentless hack! We'll revolutionize your face!' they said as they jumped on Yamazaki and worked his face.... (in reality, they just talked about it a lot).

Yamazaki mentions that to him, the theme meant 'the suppressed weak defeat the strong'. So in that sense, a revolution is a grand Turnabout. Having come to this point, they needed a 'confrontation' that would embody this theme. At the start of the project, things were still vague, so that led to this piece of concept art.

"OUR REVOLUTION WILL START NOW"

With the help of the team, they eventually came up with Kurain and the story with two protagonists.

Next entry will be written by planner Daigo.
