It's sort of like a wreckage you can't help but rubber neck to see. Everything from the art, the writing, and the design, is all over the place and the player is tasked with crawling around, picking them up, and discerning how to most efficiently chuck them into the nearest bin.
If Jak and Daxter is like playing on a the playground of your new school for the first time, then Jak 2 is like trying to both figure out and fit in at the first week of a particularly desolate High School.

Jak 2 was literally a response to GTA3. It was a rush job and why it feels so off. It clearly wasn't playtested so there are ridiculous difficulty spikes and is fucking tedious.

3 was the worst, like a mini-game collection more than anything, and when it wasn't you had platforming that was still worse than the first 2, the guns were so overpowered, by the time you get to the second platforming mission you've already got a gun that can wipe the floor with nearly anything, also while Jak 2 was hard sometimes really hard Jak 3 jumps from a total pushover to almost as hard but mostly stays at pushover, which if you ask me is far worse.
The game jammed in so munch stuff but didn't take much time to design fun missions around it.
