The metaclub members will constantly do shit out of their way to please themselves while the rest of the station suffers, they can murder, kidnap, remove players from the game and receive no punishment for it because lol the metaclub.

I'd enjoy this game more if my luck wasn't terrible.
Most of this game is just random chance, but it seems like I'm rarely ever able to enjoy my job or do something cool. Usually it's just "Fuck, someone bombed my department" or "Guy with gun runs around killing everyone while Security scratches their assholes".
Apparently, I'm expected to make means to defend myself, but anything more complex than a circular saw immediately gets confiscated and results in brig time.

Basically it's a space station with plenty people doing their basic tasks and making sure the station keeps running properly, whether the cook cooking food, or the scientists blowing shit up.
Amidst the station are evil players who seek to destroy it, who must pretend to do their job as much as they can so they're not detected, when they're actually fucking it up intentionally to cause as much destruction as possible.
Ideally a great a game lasts for quite some time, with a fully functioning station where everyone does his part, plenty interactions between players, as everyone tries to identify who fails to his duty and is potentially trying to stir shit up.
What really happens is this: most retards don't ever bother completing their tasks and just seek to gather as many weapons as they can before all hell breaks loose, and then either build a rape dungeon or kill everyone in sight, and the game lasts 2 minutes at best when it should last for almost an hour to be truly enjoyable.
How is the /vg/ thread nowadays?

I haven't played this in quite some time, but I used to enjoy it.
I just played as an everyman engineer and fixed (attempted to fix) the station as everyone destroys it.
My best round was a round where the admins walled the station into two stations and told each side they were at war. I acquired a uniform for each side and went undercover depending on which side of the station I was on, fixing the messes that the warring factions made.
Eventually they let Lord Singuloth loose though, and you can't fix that.

Replicating what SS13 is a fuckload of work for many reasons, with atmospherics and code-migration being two big suckers in there. Can you imagine a half-decent engine processing all that data and updating it all in real time? BYOND isn't powerful, but it's hella light. Translate all that atmos stuff into a more complex engine and you got yourself a hellish headache

I managed to get a guy locked up for the entire game and all he was doing that i remember was running around naked causing a nuisance.
