Never played it but 2 and 3 hold up better as horror games, which makes them better in my book.
It's hard to be afraid of early 3D models like those.

Let's decide once and for all, what's better for gameplay, first person or third person. Also if first person do you want to see your character and their equipment, or do you want them to be invisible for maximum visibility?

That depends entirely on the gameplay in my opinion. For example I love driving in first person in GTAV but trying to do anything else in first person is a chore.
