And if the case has a shit ton of hot air or the PSU is improperly put in blocking the fans air flow your PSU isn't being cooled.

Hotter air being brought into hot object=hotter object.

There's literally no software interface with the PSU to begin with. The only way it's connected to the computer at all is through power connectors.

None, because there's no software for it, but "I touched the case and it was hot" could be said about any component attached to a PC after it's been turned on for 10 minutes.

Then the fucking idiot is blocking his PSU's airflow. There's no way in hell that dark souls 3 is somehow magically causing their PSU to draw in so much power than it overheats and dies. Perhaps the OP is a fucking idiot who's plugged his computer into an outlet that can't handle it; the retard needs to feel the cord and see if it's too hot.

Depending on the make, it'll go as high as 65. That's good, because the cards can go up to 85 and it won't even matter.

Mine maxes at 60, I don't consider it a big deal.
>>
>>339174727
That doesn't even make sense. How does a game decide how much power to draw from a PSU? The power has to go somewhere (the components of the computer, eg. CPU or graphics card) and those parts are fine, so the PSU is probably just a dud or this man is lying.

Or he could have a genuine hardware fault that causes the thing to draw inordinate amounts of power, and firing up DS3 just excarberates it to the point the device performs an overcurrent/overtemp shutdown to protect itself.

>>
>>339177741
A GPU does not blow into the case, it blows out the back. The same goes for the PSU.
>>
>>339174727
PSU isn't rated high enough for the power your hardware requires under 100% maximum load. The game may be at fault for bringing your hardware to maximum load, you're at fault for having a PSU that isn't capable of handling your hardware being at maximum load.
>>
>>339178002
But that's wrong, GPU pulls out hot air and the PSU pulls in cool air.
>>
>>339178002
>A GPU does not blow into the case

Where do you think the hot air from the GPU goes? It sucks in air and the flow of air blows out the sides of its heatsink.
>>
>>339177594
if there is ventilation on the bottom of your pc, then the psu can be placed upside down so it doesn't take hot air fr.

many retards still place it upside down even if there is no ventilation.

>>
>>339177451
My case only had one possible way the PSU could face because of the way it had to be screwed in and I'm pretty sure it shoots hot air back into the case, but the case also pushes all the hot air out the top like a wind tunnel so it might be intentional. Even if it is, I'm still pretty sure I should get a new case.

>>339178182
>>339178294
Any modern gaming viable GPU sucks in the air of the case and blows it out of the back of the card out of the case. The 90s-2005 models that had a fan on top that did nothing but push air through a heatsink are no longer an industry standard - only the CPU and mainboard fans still do that.
>>
>>339176439
Oh shit

>>
>>339178536

It's largely irrelevant whether a PSU sucks air into the case or blows air out of the case. All that matters is that air is moving through the case.

Typically speaking, intake is the bottom and the front, outtake is the back and top. As long as the air flows more or less like this it doesn't matter what gets hit by the cold air first, PSU or motherboard.
>>
>>339177384

>>
>>339179374
Case in question is a Raven 2. I'm now 100% sure that, technically speaking, it's forced me to put the power supply in the wrong way around since there's an opening on the opposite side, but it shouldn't matter much since the case fans are so strong.

I have a MSI 970 and I get like 28-35C when idle, and it's like 25 degrees here. If that's idle that's extremely hot. Also it doesn't have fans on when under 45 degrees so it isn't using it's own fans and still keeps cold. What the fuck are you running?

Is that case the one were the PSU is mounted sideways at the top?

It doesn't look like a very versatile design but things don't have to be perfect, if it works well enough then it works well enough.

Honestly, people get way too paranoid about computer cooling. You get nothing out of a CPU operating at 30C you wouldn't get out of one operating at 65C, or even 70C or 80C. It's mostly wank.
