not really, I'll give you FIre Emblem but pokemon there really is no need to get the other copy and you can use the global trading at any wifi hotspot and trade fot the pokemon you want. Strafox Zero comes with Starfox Guard so regardless of what you think of those games there are 2 of them. With things like capcoms on disc dlc or the Disgaea literally selling you the post game which was normally free in the PS2 era and just DLC in general I dont think Nintendo is any different from the other companies.

There were many specific reviews with unfounded arguments that shat on those games and even more back then. I believe he's mentioning those.
There's also the recent case of the review of uncharted 4 and the literal "DELETE THIS" petition, which was embarassing enough and actually unfounded. Despite all the terrible and many times ridiculous reviews nintendo games get I have yet to see them make a petition to bring down one of them.

The problem is that those reviews have multiplied since then and you can find many like that one. Woolly World, Kirby Rainbow Curse, I mean, pretty much all of them were bashed for pretty much the wrong reasons. It's all nitpicking.
It's true the games are not perfect, they have flaws and people accept them, nintendo fans themselves are the most vocal about it, see FE Fates for example. Emphasis on example!
