I don't know any legit game that has done that.
I know Legend of Dragoon sold a Dragoon stone, but that isn't needed, and the merchant certainly didn't look like that.
Definitely when I first saw this picture I thought 'no, actually, I don't think I've ever seen this in a videogame.'

You just applied a technical term to a generic statement. Read the image again. It just says "my quest". Dark Souls' dung counts, as do bottles, masks, and pieces of heart.
