Overwatch is not a fighter game, overwatch is a team based FPS. Characters counter other characters and the skill and strategy comes from working in a team that understands this.

I for the most part agree but there are some times where a GOOD widowmaker or hanzo have been an asset on offense, situationally at least.
A Dragonstrike right through their bastion/reinhard combo camped on top of the payload can get things moving again if your team is stuck. There are other ways to accomplish that sure, but that's not to say I'm not thankful if a Hanzo does it and the payload starts moving again because of it.
But BAD Widowmakers and Hanzos on offense or KotH are awful. Bad Widowmakers and Hanzos on defense at least can hopefully get some kills and stall their advance some.
Bastion or Torbj on attack on a capture map is 100% pointless, as you can't advance with your team very well and still set up your turret and kill things. Either of them or Symmetra on KotH is risky. If you can wipe the other team and then set up appropriate defenses on the point it's fine, but if you can't wipe them early on you don't get much chance to set up your defense.
Getting mad that someone is playing a defensive hero on offense is semi-reasonable. It's still ultimately your own fault for being bad enough to get matched with someone like that, but I can understand the frustration.
Expecting someone to switch to support because you don't want to is just unforgivably assholish. Blizzard should issue warnings and then ban on the second offense for shit like that. If you want there to be a support so bad, YOU play the shitty unfun support.

Playing Mercy means you see all this shit, because you're constantly looking at people's health, so when I'm always seen Widowmaker injured but somewhere I have no fucking way to get to without abandoning the people actually playing the map... I start to get a bit resentfull.

Even if bastion can be countered more now than before, do you think he's in need of a nerf anyways?
I mean his damage output is insane, more so compared other classes. I feel like in d.va's case she scary as fuck at point blank but just doesn't deliver damage even though she can be out paced by anyone while she's attacking. Hell, zarya's pretty good but her shield stuff is almost useless as a shield, if it had like a really quick cool down, then it'd work better as a quick block. When compared to mei's ice wall, ice wall takes the cake.
So looking into the thought that gets put into some characters, it feels really out of place that bastion gets to mow an entire team down at least once per game and several multikills even when being counted when other characters takes time to git gud just to do half of that.

I don't find 1 Bastion to be a problem.
1 Bastion and a Torbjorn can be iffy depending on placement and how much support they have.
My issue is with multiple Bastions/Torbjorns.
It can be impossible to keep turrets destroyed that way and it can completely cockblock attack, you have to dedicate too much of your team to trying to flank and kill them when there are multiples.
I'd be happy with a restriction of 1 per hero per team.
Make lifting that restriction a weekly brawl type.

Bastion gets countered harder then any other character in the game, but a good Bastion without something like a Genji to stop him will mop the floor with anybody else. A buff could easily make Bastion legit overpowered, but even the slightest nerf would render him useless.

Unless you're talking about putting a turret on the payload to keep it moving with your team, you will have to reset your turret up every 10 seconds because your team left you in the dust and made your already set up and upgraded turret useless. I was specifying capture point maps btw, where your team shouldn't be in any one place long enough to make a turret or bastion useful.

There's nothing wrong with maining a character in Overwatch. Everyone is going to have a character they naturally gravitate towards and are naturally good with. You just need to be willing to play other characters as the situation requires. For instance, if you're best with Soldier 76 but your team already has a Bastion, Reaper, and Phara, do the team a favor and play a healer or a tank or something.
Why do most people assume having a main = only playing as that character?
For example I main Genji Mei and Zenyatta, but I often switch characters especially if we need a certain one.

I think the fact that he heals himself is kind of a big thing. Kinda surprised to see that being a thing in the first place, the fact that he can make a team melt like butter and last isn't really making me want his nerf to come sooner, but it really makes me want everyone else to get stupid as fuck buffs. Sniper McCree was probably pretty good when there was no damage falloff, they nerfed that early on in the closed beta. Now you're having to go up to where your team is currently fighting to set up a new turret Your old one maybe got 1 or 2 kills from reaper or genji or tracers trying to flank behind your team maybe.. at best.
But if your team is pushing, they need people up with them, not building turrets behind them.
If you're trying to build turrets behind enemy lines, most times, they will kill it before you can upgrade it, because a Level 1 Turret gets destroyed in just a few hits.

Unfortunately the heal is pretty necessary on Bastion. Having a big hitbox, being immobile half the time, and and being THE biggest target means Bastion is constantly taking damage. A bastion that isn't constantly at full health is a Bastion that is going to die very fast.
He would basically be useless without the constant presence of a healer.

A lot of other characters are without a healer, they're not useless. In the time it takes for him to rip through a team and then they respawn and come back, he could have gotten a health pack easy. He's got too much going for him compared to others, that's my actual problem with bastion.
Anyone else having sever lag issues? My connection is perfect and everything loads right but Overwatch has lag that makes it unplayable for me. I am also sitting next to my bud who is having no issues playing it on my connection.

They aren't labeled for their intended gamemode use (offensive = attack / defensive = defend). Offensive heroes are mobile killers, while defensive heroes are better at killing in static positions. It's up to you and your team to make any hero work in a given situation.

As much as people like to think he does, Bastion usually isn't just deleting enemy teams. He ends up being more like sustained suppression. His effectiveness would take a nosedive if he had to take trips to a health pack every two seconds.
Other characters either don't share his xbox huge hitbox, or have twice his health, and don't share the trait of being the least mobile character in the game. Bastion quite literally needs to be at full health at all times, or dies the moment somebody looks at him.
