Well I did, I read everything in Japanese now. For fun I like to check out various partial patches from Fuwatards etc. and it's always crap with obvious remnants of machine TL.
But I mainly referred to how the number of Japanese readers increased on 4chan in last few years and you have more and more people calling out even older, accepted, translations as shit. And for some of them even the actual translators did, like Sharin no Kuni.

Yep. I use to work in this field as a freelance translator paid per word at like a rate of half penny for an entire game script until I got into novels and a business translator, which pays salary. TLs being as bad they are basically the same reason eroge is dying out, there's just no money in it. Translating works can be a nightmare too, so you have to be skilled and adaptive.

Subahibi and Sakura no Uta are both amazing.
Sakura no Uta takes some time to get going, it's a relatively long eroge and the prologue, Frühlingbeginn and Abend might seem like a slog when you play them initially. Of course afterwards you'll appreciate them as important character building, but you need to get through them first. And afterwards Olympia is good, PicaPica is a mistake (why did Sca-ji let someone else write a part of his masterpiece?), but then you read Zypressen and Epitaphs and you know Sakura no Uta is as good as it gets.
