Console-only FPS should be illegal. I think Splatoon is fucking awesome and I want to play it but I just can't enjoy it because it's impossible to enjoy FPS games without a keyboard and mouse and no, motion control shit is no proper substitute. At the very least, consoles should have some sort of KB+M peripheral for these sorts of games.
>>339125165
kill yourself
>>339125165
>FPS
It's Third person Anon.
>>339125165
man, remember those assholes crying about no splatoon on PC and saying they would recreate it on PC?
lmao
>>339125165
Splatoon is a 3rd person shooter/painter/platformer, and the gyro controls are excellent.
>>339126140
Takes a long ass time to make video games anon, could still be happening.
>>339127160
>and the gyro controls are excellent.
I thought this was nonsense at first but it actually was way more responsive than just simply using the twin sticks by themselves.
Do any other console shooters have gyro aiming?
Why is this game still at full price? I should just sell my wii u at this point since their games never drop in price
>>339128007
>Do any other console shooters have gyro aiming?
Every mobile/tablet shooter ever.
>>339125165
>splatoon
>fps
You got it all wrong.
It's going to be a long while before I can emulate it on my PC.
>>339128073
Nintendo games don't go down in price. They are extremely good at predicting how much they'll sell and don't print much more than that. On top of that, Nintendo games usually aren't sold back to stores.
dumping some webms and gifs now
>>339125651
>TS2 wouldn't have been much better if it was on PC
>>339128296
3rd party shit always gets traded in, there's bins full of that wii garbage
>>339128393
the game wouldn't exist if consoles didn't exist
>>339128318
Woomy a cute
>>339128240
Overkill, don't you think?
>>339128483
Did you hear me say Third-Party? I said Nintendo games.
>>339128153
Again console shooter.
>>339128608
a long time ago that used to include 3rd party, am I a kid for still thinking that
>>339128697
Nah.you're a squid for thinking that
>>339128697
No you're a Squid
>>339128648
I can't imagine fps like cod or battlefield using gyro, what would it be like
>>339128401
How does this game work?
>>339125165
>ITT: OP is terrible at using a controller and thus blames consoles for everything.
Controller on FPS doesn't matter if everyone is using one.
>>339128763
>>339128769
>Squid
NGYESH
>tfw no woomy gf
>mfw Splatoon is a first part IP so it's NEVER, EVER coming to PC
>>339128852
that mode called splatzone is like capture the flag, except you're capturing and holding the zone from the enemy squids
>>339125165
What do you think FPS stands for?
>>339128240
>tfw it's way more funny than it should be
>tfw you realize the team-mate is just watching
I wonder how long it took for the 8 of them to set this up.
>>339128986
I meant how do you kill other players, what the significance of the ink is and so on.
>>339128007
Starfox. Literally marked down in points because it's so much better to play with and bloggers hate motion controls.
>>339129019
First Person Squid
>>339129086
your ink = safe
enemy ink = you get damaged
you're basically a submarine when you're submerged in ink, I fucking kid you not, you can see ripples when you move fast or you can stealth leaving behind no ink ripple by angling the movement stick up for half a second then allowing it to return to neutral, then repeating it
there's even tactics that resemble depth charges when you're in the ink
the ink allows for a kind of vertical design you don't often see in shooters, too bad the actual game doesn't make much use of it
>>339128556
>no one replying to this
>>339129086
Alot of thinks the ink is used to cover ground allowing you to hide, refill on ink, travel the map quickly, scale walls, defeating the opposing team or covering key areas to win matches like the one anon said about the king of the hill type mode.
>>339129414
You are.
>>339129086
By shooting them.
You can hide in, move quickly through and even climb walls covered in your own color ink, and it's part of several modes' victory conditions, like inking more of the map than the other team or controlling capture points by inking them.
>>339128831
As counterintuitive as it sounds If you're willing to get used to it actually gives a lot more responses and precise control compared to just using the right stick.
It's still no keyboard and mouse but it's a dramatic improvement over usual console aiming.
>339129108
Yeah but that game had other problems as well.
>>339128831
third person gyro works great, every game I've used it in feels fantastic. First person though...is a bit finnicky.
I bet this game is easy for 4channers because most of the other players would be japanese school kids.
The ink you fire doesn't really move in a straight line unless you're armed with the sniper series of weapons. The ink arcs at what, the halfway point to maximum range when tilted at an angle or 3/4th of the range when you're shooting level to the ground?
I love lewd squids.
>>339129729
depends on what your weapon you are using when ink starts to arc
>>339129767
>>339125165
>I haven't played the game but let me shitpost
What sucks about the plaza is they removed squids dancing under the alcove by the alleyway because it's too lewd for Nintendo of America
>>339129703
>japanese school kids
that's hot
>TFW never on other consoles
>>339130137
any footage of that? would love to see it.
and that's the end of the dump
>>339130316
Here you go. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZPI_tqRi2sk
>>339130454
thanks anon.too bad the footage isn't from behind though
>>339129490
It's pretty genius can design when you think about it. It should be a no-brainer but just think about poorly most games actually balance different play styles.
You have to hide to shoot and you have to shoot to hide. You can't take one play style on excluding to the other.
Mouse and keyboard is overrated. Any extra precision you get for aiming is nullified by clunky-ass keyboard movement.
>>339125165
>Splatoon
>FpS
Lol
>Guys i cant play it on my PC WAAAAAH
>I CAN BUY A PC FOR 600+ BUT SOMEHOW I CANT BU A WII U AND SPLATOON FOR 250!!!!
Nobody cares maybe you can play it in few years when its emulatable + online
Huave fun playig it with 5k people max
>>339130137
>>339130454
They removed that? It was definitely there when I played it, but that was shortly after launch.
>>339130454
I saw that the other day in my game, but it was Boys.
>>339130739
Yes they removed it. Not fucking once on my way to millionaire golds on the plaza have I ever seen it again.

>>339131032
>>339129108
You know I might take another look at that game.
Normally I would have dismissed mention controls as a gimmick but considering the level of incompetence polygon reviewers showed with simply aiming In Doom, perhaps it really was them at fault at all.
>>339130970
Probably why they could get away with it
>>339125165
"PC Gamer" here
You're a faggot. Aiming with that controller is awesome. And so was wiimote aiming in Metroid Prime 3. Open the fuck up and stop being such a platform elitist cunt that can't adapt.
>>339130653
There is no perfect control system until we get neurological interfaces.
>>339125165
>fps
Besides, gyro controllers are the way forward
>>339129115
>Squid flopping
Nah fuck that guy m8
>>339128831
Right stick for broad strokes and gyro for minor adjustments, like Splatoon
>>339131879
Pretty much.
On that note do you think PC mouses arguably make it *too easy* to aim?
It's a struggle to get a 360 no scope headshot on the controller, which makes it feel impressive.
Doing the same with a mouse is about as difficult and rewarding as clicking on a MS word file.
>>339131446
ORA ORA
>>339132529
>360 no scope
>impressive
>>339129369
Jesus, I always feel bad whenever I play and use the Splatterscope, or rather, I feel bad now because I am NEVER as good as this.
I'll let you in on a little secret.
Splatoon wasn't very good, I bought a Wii U to play it, it wasn't worth it.
Don't waste your time, anon.
>>339131446
>And so was wiimote aiming in Metroid Prime 3.
God, was it ever.
>tfw no slick, fast third-person shooter like Vanquish designed around pointer controls for the Wii U
>Kid Icarus: Uprising 2 on Wii U/NX with pointer controls never
>Metroid Prime: Hunters 2 with pointer controls on Wii U/NX never
Why does Nintendo suck at taking advantage with their gimmicks?
>>339133776
>We could have had Hunters 2 instead of Federation Force
>>339129414
Fuck off rainy
>>339128401
God, I fucking hate tower control.
>>339133562
don't stay or camp in one spot after taking a shot, if you're going to snipe do it right, by stealthy, the moment you kill somebody your position is given away, so move
keep your hands steady and play around with the gyro sensitivity, better yet rest your hands on a level surface while using the controls, for once my gigantic mousepad served well as handrests
>>339133968
We could have had a Metroid Prime 4 by now which took advantage of the gamepad, we could have had a mulitiplayer mode that was pretty much Hunters 2 with old and new races returning.
>>339134390
>don't stay or camp in one spot after taking a shot, if you're going to snipe do it right, by stealthy, the moment you kill somebody your position is given away, so move
Sweet, thanks.
>keep your hands steady and play around with the gyro sensitivity, better yet rest your hands on a level surface while using the controls, for once my gigantic mousepad served well as handrests
My issue is, there's no way to recalibrate that shit like there is with the Wii remote. Ideally I'd like to have the cursor at a neutral position in the center of the screen with my hands down, relaxed, but I always have to tilt the gamepad up a little to get to that point.
>>339134545
when you die you always have at least 6 seconds to eyeball or guess your killer's location since you're literally shown who killed you, so you should always move around if you're doing the killing
the y button resets the camera towards what your inkling is facing, holding y also keeps the camera locked towards what you are currently facing
>>339125165
Good thing it's a TPS, huh?
