I tried the Japanese demo and even without speaking Japanese it was fantastic. I never was a big fan of Minecraft and similar games because I felt a lack of direction or progress, but this game is exactly that, Minecraft with a direction... and also a bunch of other stuff I prefer like NPCs having actual dialogues, graphics actually being good, not everything being made of cubes, a much better UI and the general Dragon Quest music and enemies.

I've only played the demo:
The combat was really shitty and just exist to be functional. It's basically Minecraft's but third person and you stop moving when you attack. I don't know if you get more actions in the full game. However, there were certainly varied enemies, including a super boss right in the demo that is way too strong for the player's current level.

I'm happy that more Dragon Quest games are coming, but its still not a real, true Dragon Quest game. Why aren't any new mainline Dragon Quest games making it over? Is that just a matter of time?
I also would've liked it more if there was a PC release announced for this game. I realize porting takes time but waiting patiently for something that may or may not happen is annoying, and buying a game twice is not ideal.
Still, its cool that this game is coming over, and its a nice spin on the usual Minecraft clone thing. I was worried it wouldn't make it over at all.

At least this has a way of appealing to more than just Dragon Quest fans like Heroes did. That was just like Hyrule Warriors were 99% of the people buying it was a big fan of Zelda. So of course it would have low sales over here where A. Dragon Quest was dead for 5 years and B. Outside of 8 and 9 (which was about 5 years apart) there wasn't really any advertisement for Dragon Quest so no one knew anything about it.

Don't use the male in DQH. He has higher damage output because of his fire ability, but the females ice ability is a thousand times better because of her freezing, which can freeze mobs and bosses alike.
You'll need that freezing later on in the game when the enemies become huge sponges and the only way to kill them quickly is to freeze, then swap to a higher DPS character like Yangus to go for the kill.
