The real tragedy is that all of the spoken lines in TF2 had full mouth animations, and the eyeballs on the character models will follow people. This was in 2007. The game was sold for 20 dollars and was considered a mod.
Meanwhile a triple A action FPS made by industry giant Blizzad has NO MOUTH ANIMATIONS for any of the spoken lines. The eyes are also painted on and only look straight ahead.

They're competing for the same market space. It's unlikely that Overwatch can succeed though given that most TF2 players (read: everyone) will expect updates in TF2 intervals, not Blizzard intervals (read: massively delayed and underwhelming).
I think that if blizzard could suck up some criticisme and stop going in the "every hero must be fun and op in some way" the game could be miles better.

I agree with this but in a different way. Blizzard needs to reevaluate their player kit ideology. A player's kit should be fun to use, but not for the demerit of the enemy team fun. A built in wallhack ult or built in aim assist/instant death ult is not fun to play against. There is no counterplay to a tracer bomb being stuck to you or a widowmaker killing everyone in a 10 mile radius or being stunned by a flashbang and then being sent to the respawn room. Once the gimmicks get old people will get tired and fatigued of playing. They will look for a game with a higher skill ceiling or more engaging gameplay, This is the success to TF2, all of the classes are strong but don't rely on cheap feeling gimmicks, except for the huntsman or sword and board demo. The only real cheap feeling int the game is being hit but a crit, but those are rare and completely random.

The game is designed for super casuals, yet it has Bastion as a casual filter. Devs just say git gud for their casual audiance, which manes absolutely no sense.
Those who can deal with Bastion by switching heroes during the game are bothered by the heavy lack of content. The gameplay doesn't really appeal to anyone but drones at the moment.

medic is tf2 is so much more fun and engaging that Mercy will ever be, because medics abilities stem from his skill with aiming or staying alive enough to have an uber. I disagree, with the exception of vaccinator medic, I find Mercy to be a lot more fun and versatile then standard medic. Mercy has a lot of mobility and paired up with someone like a pharah you can accomplish a lot that most players can't, from getting to harder to reach areas, to being a two man apocalypse. Medic in TF2 is fun, but unless you're using vaccinator there's really not that much to it.

It's a worse game, plain and simple. Overwatch has a lot more dumb bullshit in it that will kill you i.e. MOBA shit like ultimates. TF2 is significantly more balanced and has a higher skill ceiling with actual movement options like rocket jumping. Not to mention the weapon variety can completely change how you play one specific class in TF2, in Overwatch you're stuck to one gun with maybe an alt-fire. It's still an alright game but TF2 completely shits all over it, at least it's fun to see casuals/Blizzdrones come out of the woodwork to defend it.

I really wanted to enjoy this game, I've been burned out on fucking everything for months now. Got it along with all my friends, play in full 6 queues, even got some pugs going.
But holy shit there's borderline nothing enjoyable in this entire fucking game.
There's nothing skill based about movement unless you're Tracer or Genji and abilities that take control from the player like Mei's freeze or McCree's stun suck the fun right out of the game. Even worse are the fucking ultimates, mechanical skill takes a back seat to spamming chokes to charge your win button and then stacking them on top of each other to wipe the other team. Which gets even better because everyone will always be at the fucking objective, conveniently bunched up so every potg, regardless of character, is just someone pressing q to active their AoE deathzone.
I wouldn't even call it a bad game, it runs great, looks great, and with a few tweaks could have great balance. But goddamn its just so fucking boring.

Thats because the medic is literally what puts the Team in Tf2. Everybody plays around the medic because the medic is just so important to success.
The uber building mechanic is what everybody plays around and is the key to a successful push.
Uber is so important I regularly throw myself in front of the medic to save him or suicide myself to kill the enemy medic.
Every game without a medic has everybody spread out around the map seeking medkits so there is little teamwork going on. Almost always a loss when this happens.
It's always a good idea to visit your medic for an overheal for that edge in combat.
What makes the teamwork work in Overwatch anyway?
